Our Inspiration
UPDATE TO THIS PAGE: 12/1/04:
Mother has been going through a very
trying period with her health, and
we ask that ALL who visit this page
lift her up to Christ. For those who
have written to us via email,
we THANK you from the bottom of
our hearts for your prayers. We
serve a MIGHTY GOD and He can take
care of ALL THINGS!! Please join
us in prayer for our Mother...she
is so very precious to our family,
and while we understand that God's
Will shall be done...we also know the
power of the prayers of the righteous.
When you pray tonight...remember our
Mom in your prayers!!!
Whatever goodness resides in me, I
can truly say it was inherited
from my beautiful 78 year old
mother, Myrtle. (She doesn't look
that old, does she?)
A lady with class, elegance, and
a wonderfully spontaneous personality...
she has given so much of herself
to assure that her girls were "all
they could be" in a time when it was
unheard of.
Mother has endured a brain aneurism,
four heart attacks, three strokes,
& quad bypass surgery, and will
undergo cataract surgery in a month
or so.
Nothing gets this courageous woman
down. Each time, she has bounced back
with more determination than ever.
She is truly a "miracle" among us.
She has absolutely no debilitating
effects from her episodes of illness.
Every setback has brought her closer to
God. She constantly puts her trust in
Him. Particularly, when my Father died,
it was a trying time for all of us.
Mom was the one who held us together.
She gave us courage and strength to go on.
Most definitely, she is the glue that
binds our family together...and she is
dearly loved by my sister and me.
My Mother is the epitome of a Christian
woman. In so many ways, I compare her
to RUTH of the Bible. She lives her life
every day as though it were her last...
showering her love and wisdom to her
children,grandchildren, and anyone she
meets along the way. She is such
a LIGHT in a world of darknesss. We
have been blessed by her FAITH and
WITNESS in a bleak world.
I have to share this memory with you:
One day, Mom and I were going shopping at
a local shopping center. We saw a very
destitute person at the side of the
road with a sign "WILL WORK FOR MONEY".
Mom, being Mom, didn't question motive,
reason or cause...she simply uttered
a prayer to the Lord as we drove into
the parking lot. I noticed while we
were in the store she didn't buy ONE
THING. As we left the shopping center,
she told me to stop when we passed
the man. She gave him everything she
had planned on spending...and she told me
that God had put it upon her heart to give!
These wonderful traits of mother's are the
ones I hope to inherit!!!!
My sister and I were taught of God at
a very early age. We were always in Sunday
School and church. While both of us
grew up and strayed...it is the prayers
of my Mother that finally brought us back
to the Lord. Every night when I lay down
I thank God for a righteous mother, who
lifted our family up to Him for safety
and guidance. If ever there will be a
crown given in Heaven, I know my Mother
has one awaiting her.
I can never repay her for her love,
goodness and compassion. She has been
the backbone of our family, and the one
we always turn to in times of need.
This wonderful woman always sees good
in everyone and everything....and if I
could choose who I would be molded after --
my Mom would be my first choice. She
is the epitome of a woman with "class,
dignity, character, and perfect demeanor".
In a world where so many people
chose celebrities and people of fame
as their role models, I'm so glad I can
say for my sister and myself, our MOM
has been the best role model we could
have ever had.
We LOVE you, Mom...for all you've done...
for all the nights you stayed awake when
we were sick...for all the times you listened
when we just wanted to talk...for all the
times you've been there when NO ONE else
was....you're special in our eyes!!!!!
