Campouts
Troop 651 has a campout almost every month. Most scouts attend a majority of these campouts as the activities conducted on the campouts are needed for advancement.
Supplies:
Before you scout begins camping you'll have to gather a few supplies. (Refer to the supplies section)
Sign up and attendance:
Normally, at the Troop meeting two weeks before the campout there is a sign up sheet for scouts who are planning on gong on the up and coming campout. (This is so we can arrance for enough transportation)
Scouts are required to attend the meeting before the campout. Sometimes an absence may be excused if the scout lets his patrol advisor and/or the Scoutmaster know in advance.
Permission Slips:
You will need to complete a permission slip for each campout. A hint...fill in the information about insurance and doctors name, etc. and make a few copies so you don't have to keep looking for this information every time. [But remember to read the form your scout brings home for any special information about that outing. If you lose your permission slip blank forms are available on-line])
Departure and Arrival:
The times are established when the troop is planning the camout and it also depends on where they're gong. Typically will meet at the Woodland Park Middle School parking lot along Rock Springs Road on Friday at around 6:00 p.m. They normally return Sunday morning. (usually around 11:00 - 1:00)

On average it costs approximately $90 per scout each year to participate in scouting. The troop raises this money by collecting dues from each scout and by fundraisers.
Dues are $4.00 per month for each scout. We have a variety of payment arrangements available. Several scouts pay each month while others pay two or three months at a time. This varies depending on the arrangements made between the scout and his parents. In any case-please strive to keep your dues current!
Fundraisers: Our troop conducts several fundraisers throughout the year. We have two types of fundraisers. General Fundraisers (such as popcorn sales) are for the troop operating funds.
We also have fundraisers (such as our bread sales) where the scouts are given the opportunity to raise money to support their individual troop activities such as paying their dues or saving up for summer camp.
Should a scout leave the troop, money in his personal account that was a result of a fundraiser will remain with the troop and may not be refunded or paid directly to the scout.
