Dennis Cove Hike
On Saturday, February 16, 2002, Troop 237 went on a day hike from Dennis Cove to Watauga Dam on the Appalaichan trail. The hike was about thirteen miles altogether. As part of their cooking merit badge, the boys had to prepare aluminum foil lunches to be cooked in a pit of coals. Everyone prepared their meals at the meeting before the hike and cooked them on the hike. We also had a group of Weblos from Pack 237 go with us on this hike. Four Weblos and their dads went on the hike. They all did very well and got along with all of us. We look forward to having them as part of our troop.
