  • Just Within Reach-Celebrating 2 years -- Interview with Kevin

  • Sarah will be performing at The Viper Room in Hollywood on the 20th of February >> The tickets are $7, and you have to be 21 and over to get in, BUT...Sarah is working on getting them to change that for us. I will keep you posted. She will be performing some new songs that she has been working on. She told me that she has been writing a LOT.

Just a little update for today and then I gotta go to study Chemistry!

  • BSB Have Laid Down Two Tracks >> The group has two songs already recorded and demo versions of two more ready to track, Howie said at last week's MTV Video Music Awards Latin America in Miami.
    "I have a feeling in the beginning of the year, we'll really start hitting it hard," he said.
    Howie progress report dispels talk that he, A.J., Brian and Kevin will continue as the Backstreet Boys without Nick. The dimmed spotlight on the rest of the group is simply the result of the members needing some space after a decade together.
    "We are all giving each other space to explore things,..." Howie said. "...the rest of us are writing for the next album. So when [Nick's] done with his project and BrianX has his baby and A.J. gets married, we'll be able to get back into the studio and crank out the album."
    The group is experimenting with producers, though nothing's been set. Among the knob-twiddlers being considered for the follow-up to 2000's Black & Blue are Glen Ballard, Babyface and Jermaine Dupri.
    As far as their take on Nick's Now or Never, BSB have nothing but love for their partner in pop.
    "I'm excited about it," Howie said. "It's something he's wanted to do. It's got more of the rock/alternative/pop sound, which is something he's grown up listening to Nirvana, Journey and that's the influence he brings into the group. That's just him spreading his wings and being creative on his own."

  • Now Or Never Slips On The Charts >> Hits Daily Double.com's final chart results have arrived. It seems that Nick's Now Or Never has slipped past #35 from debuting at #17. The Billboard 200 will be issued out on 11.16.02, so we can know for sure just how far Now Or Never has slipped in sales.

  • Nick Carter celebrates Thanksgiving in Detroit >> If you live and/or are visiting the Detroit, Michigan area Nov. 27 and 28 you can see Nick at the Thanksgiving Day Parade (riding the "Club DRQ Float") on the 28th (admission is free) and you can see him at the Hob Nobble Gobble the 27th (starts at 6:00pm EST) at the new GM Wintergarten at the Renaissance Center (tickets and ticket info at 313-923-7400).
    If you live in the Detroit area listen to 93.1 WDRQ and you could win the chance to ride on the Club DRQ float with Nick Carter. Good luck!

  • Bob Carter Explains Cancer Rumours >> Star magazine has more details on the medical problems that are facing Bob Carter, the father of Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter and Aaron Carter. Denying he has cancer, Bob explained, "I just ate too much bad food on this summer's tour with Aaron. I'm hurting, but not dying. Nick just came home to make sure I was OK. He's a good boy." The specific ailment is diverticulitis, an acute bowel inflammation. "Touring is a young man's game," the elder Carter admitted. "I should have known better."

  • Backstreeter Gets Honoured Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough, 29, was honored Saturday for his efforts to educate the public about Lupus, the disease that claimed the life of his sister Caroline four years ago. The United Catholic Music and Video Association presented Howie and his family with the Inspiration Award. "It feels good to be acknowledged," he said after accepting the award at the Hartke Theater on the campus of Catholic University in Washington, D.C. Dorough and his sister Pollyanna, who hosted the awards ceremony, wrote and produced "Fly to Heaven," which Howie refers to as the "theme song for the foundation." Their performance of the duet on Saturday left some audience members in tears.
