| Buffy and Faith have a twisted friendship.
When Faith first came to Sunnydale, Buffy was jealous of her because everyone liked Faith, she was different to Buffy. She had a positive attitude towards slaying and she had exciting stories of her slaying experiences which people were drawn to. Faith: "When I'm fighting, the whole word goes away and I know only one thing: I'm gonna win and they're gonna lose. I like that feeling." - Faith, Hope and Trick While her attitude is positive towards slaying, when fighting she really goes for the kill. Before dusting them she likes to beat them up and sometimes this leaves Buffy's life in danger. Giles: "You yourself said she killed one of them. She's a plucky fighter who got a little carried away. Which is natural. She's focused on slaying. She doesn't have a whole life here like you." - Faith, Hope and Trick When Buffy was first jealous of Faith when she came to Sunnydale, Buffy didn't want to have Faith coming with her on patrol. Buffy wanted to stay centre of attention, she's The Slayer but Buffy had to take her on patrol. Buffy and Faith become friendlier overtime and start to patrol together and work as a team, as partners. They slay vampires with their new technique, sychronized slaying. After only just recently becoming friendlier to each each other a new Watcher for Faith arrives, Mrs. Gwendolyn Post. She tries to encourage Faith to trust and rely on her by reinforcing the distance Faith feels from Buffy and the gang. Also it doesn't help that Xander tells Faith that Angel is back and Faith leaves, believing she has a reason to kill Angel. Just before Faith gets to Angel, Buffy comes in and Buffy and Faith fight. As they are fighting they notice that Faith has been played, so Faith works with Buffy to fight Mrs.Post. Faith rejects Buffy's offer to her friendship, preferring to be on her own alone. Buffy and Faith's friendship grows stronger again. They talk and slay together. While Buffy goes to see Giles she finds her new Watcher, Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, has arrived.When Faith walks into the library she doesn't pay any attention to the new Watcher at all and walks out. "New Watcher?" "New Watcher." "Screw that." Now, why didn't I just say that?" -Faith and Buffy (Bad Girls) Faith suggests that Buffy should take slaying and Council-assigned Watchers less seriously and enjoy the power of being one of the Chosen more. Her arguments grow more persuasive as they battle the vampires, and Buffy begins to agree. "We're slayer girlfriend. The Chosen Two." - Faith Buffy starts distracting Willow and Xander during a Chemistry test, talking about her previous night out with her bestest bud Faith. Buffy: "It was intense. It was like I just let go, and become the is force. I just didn't care anymore." Willow: "Yeah, I know what it's like--" Buffy: "I don't think you can. It's kind of a Slayer thing. I don't even think i'm explaining it well." - Bad Girls Willow tries to understand what Buffy is feeling but Buffy tells her her she can't possibly understand because she isn't a Slayer. Faith appears at the window of the classroom and Buffy leaves and they go to dust vampires during the day and then head to the BRONZE for some dancing. Later that night Faith and buffy break into a sporting goods store to steal weapons and Faith teaches Buffy Want, Take, Have. The poilce catch them and arrest them but they escape. They then go and stake some vamps but unfortunately while patrolling, Faith accidently stakes the deputy Mayor. "Being a Slayer isn't the same as being a killer." - Buffy, Bad Girls Faith doesn't see this as a kiling, just a mistake, nothing else. "Yeah? Who's wrong now? Faith, you can shut off all the emotions you want. But eventually there gonna find a body." "Okay, this is the last time we're gonna have this conversation, and we're not even having it now, you understand me? There is no body. I took it. weighted it, and dumped it. the bodt doesn't exist." "Getting rid of the evidence doesn't make the problem go away." "It does for me" Faith, you don't get. You killed a man." "No, you don't get it. I don't care!" -Buffy and Faith, Bad Girls Buffy: "We help people. That doesn't mean we can do whatever we want." Faith: "Why not? This guy I offed was no Gandhi. We just saw. He was mixed up in dirty dealing." Buffy: " Maybe. But what if he was coming to us for help?" Faith: "What if he was? You're still not looking at the big picture, B. Something made us different. We're warriors. We were built to kill ---" Buffy: "To kill demons. But it does not mean we get to pass judgement on people, like we're better than everbody else---" Faith: "We are better. That's right. Better. People need us to survive. In the balance? Nobody's gonna cry over some random bystander who got caught in the crossfire." Buffy: " I am." -Consequences Buffy makes peace with Willow and confesses what happened with Faith and then goes to library to confess to Giles what happened but Faith had beaten her. Faith blamed Buffy for the death of the deputy Mayor. Giles knows Buffy didn't do it. Later on when Mr.Trick tries to kill Buffy, suprisingly Faith saves Buffy and stakes him. Now with Mr.Trick gone, Faith crosses over to the dark side, taking Mr.Trick's old place and is now working for the Mayor. "You sent your boy to kill me." That's right, I did." "He's dust." I thought he might be. What with you standing here and all." "I guess that means you have a job opening." -Faith and Mayor Willins III It is not first revealed that Faith is working for the Mayor but since Faith has taken a life, Buffy and Faith's friendship breaks down into nothing and once it's clear she has crossed over, it's clear as crystal they are now enemies. "See, you need me to toe the line because you're afraid you'll go over it, aren't you B? You can't handle watching me living my own way amd having a blast, because it tempts you. You know it could be you." -Faith, Choices Faith is right. When Buffy learns that the blood of a Slayer will cure Angel, who is dying from a poisoned arrow shot by Faith, she goes after the rogue Slayer. But there is one important difference: Buffy has already quit the Council when she makes the decision to take a human life. "I've seen it B. You've got the lust. And i'm not just talking about screwing vampires." Don't you dare bring him into this." It was good, wasn't it? The sex? The danger? Bet a part of you even dug him when he went psycho." "No!" -Faith and Buffy, Consequences Xander is concerned about Buffy beimg ready to take a human life like Faith did. Xander: "Are you sure your up for this?" Buffy: "It's time." Xander: "We're talking To The Death." Buffy: "I can't play kid games anymore. This is how she wants it." Xander: "I just don't wanna lsoe you." Buffy: "I won't get hurt." Xander: "That's not what I meant." - Graduation Day, Part One Buffy goes to Faith's apartment to find her and try to kill her. Faith is there and tells Buffy how she looks all grown up, just like her. Buffy's ready to go over the line. Faith: "You know you're not gonna take me alive." Buffy: "That's not a problem." Faith?: "Well, look at you, all dressed up in big sister's clothes." Buffy: "You told me i was just like you. That I was only holding it in." Faith: "You ready to cut loose?" Buffy: "Try me." -Graduation Day, Part One They fight with everything they value at stake. The fight extends violently through the window to the rooftop, where determind Buffy handcuffs herself to rogue Slayer Faith. Faith somehow has enough strength to break the cuffs but is tiring as Buffy draws a familiar knife. Buffy stabs Faith in the gut. Faith knocks Buffy back from the edge of the roof, then falls off the roof onto a passing truck, managing not to die but goes into a coma later. Buffy: "What's the matter? All that killing, you afraid to die? Faith: "That's mine." Buffy: "You're about to get it back." Faith: "Man i'm going to miss this....You did it... You killed me.. .Still won't help your boy, though. Shoulda been there, B. quite a ride." Months later after Buffy has moved on and Angel has left town for L.A, Faith wakes from her coma and finds the world a different place. "Buffy: "It's Faith. She's awake. She beat up someone, took her clothing and disappeared out of the hospital. No one knows where she is." Xander: "I'd say this qualifies for a 'Worst Timing Ever' award." -This Year's Girl Buffy: "I guess it was too much to hope that you'd use your downtime to reflect and grow." Faith: "I could say the same about you. I mean, you're still the same better-than-thou Buffy. I mean, I knew it somehow. I kept having this dream, I'm not sure what it means, but in my dream the self-righteous blond chick stabs me, and you wanna know why?" Buffy: "You had it coming." "I wake up to find out this blond chick isn't even dating the guy she was so nuts about before. She's moved on-- to the first college beefstick she meets. Not only has she forgotten the 'love of her life', she's forgotten all about the chick she nearly killed for him." -Faith, This Year's Girl With a magical machanism left for Faith by the Mayor, she switches bodies with Buffy. She intends to flee , but as Faith lives inside Buffy's skin, she moves from cynicism: Buffy: "Faith, these are innocent people." Faith: "No such animal." ..to a true Slayer. She's seen how people react to her, act with her, treat her as someone special while she has adopted Buffy's persona. How Buffy's own moral code and life choices gives her the respect from others she deseves. Airplane ticket in hand, her getaway assured, Faith chooses instead to risk her own life in order to save others. B-Faith: "Your not gonna kill these people." Vampire: "Why not?" B-Faith: "Because it's wrong." - Who Are You Buffy and Faith switch back to their bodies. This is all too much for Faith. She is confused by what has happened and is, what it seems to be disgusted to be back, to be Faith again. Faith now flees from Sunnydale to L.A. Faith tries to kill Angel and so Buffy comes rushing to L.A to help out Angel but finds Faith in his arms. Buffy: "Giles heard....that she tried to kill you." Angel: "That's true." Buffy: "So you decided to punish her with severe cuddling?" - Sanctuary When Faith sees Buffy she tries to apologize but Buffy just knocks it back. Buffy: "You apologize to me and i will beat you to death." Faith is wanted by everyone and Buffy helps her out and while Buffy is fighting off people from the Council, Faith flees. Angel is then arrested and is taken to the police station, and Buffy follows. They find Faith there, who has turned herself in. Around 3 years later, Wesley goes to the jail to visit Faith, he needs her help. Angelus is back and the only one who can help is Faith. Faith breaks out of jail and the both of them head back to the hotel. Faith learns what has been going on, about Connor and the fang gang. When Faith gets to the hotel she puts herself in charge and sets off to find Angelus and The Beast. The Beast beats her up and Faith doesn't know how strong he really is, Angelus kills The Beast. Angelus brings back the sun and now Faith is helpless lying on the ground badly hurt and has little strength. She manages to get up and by using some pully system she swings it towards Angelus, she misses but it smashs into the wall and sunlight appears, Angelus flees. Wesley finds Faith and brings her back to his apartment, she cleans her self up and changes. They go looking for Angelus and find out where he is from a girl who saw him in the bar, the girl had been using a special drug and the vampires feed off her but she won't die, the drug is a magical one. They find Angelus and Wesley gets badly beaten first and then is Faith against Angelus alone. The special gun they brought gets in the hands of Angelus and Faith is now scared of her own death and Angelus points the gun in her direction and he tells her he doesn't want to end it like this, he wants to kill her a different why and bites her. After Angelus bites her they both go into a deep sleep, like a coma, because Faith had used a large dose of the drugs that girl from the bar had used. Wesley finds Faith and brings her back to the hotel. Lorne thinks it was Wesley's idea to use the drugs but he explains it was Faith's own decision. Lorne watches over Faith. Angelus is now locked up in the cage. Faith starts yelling things out in her deep sleep and then she starts to be in Angel's mind and both Angelus and Faith are re-living Angel's life, mostly the good parts but some small bad as well. Faith: Me, I'm guessing it's more like "Angelus this is your life," because lack-of-hygiene world sure isn't mine. Faith: Way i figure, I've got one last job: baby-sit the pysch til' they shove a soul up your-- Angelus: Not gonna happen. Faith: Then, I'm whatever... dust in the wind. Candle in the wind. There'll be a general wind theme. Angelus is sick of the re-living because he already had to go through it the first time. Angelus: I'm in Hell. This is Hell, and i'm in it. Angel appears and Faith can now be hurt, and so can Angelus and Angel. Angelus and Angel battle and Angel tells Faith he needs her help and she tells him she's dying she can't help. Angel: Faith, get up! Are you listening? Faith: Angel, I'm dying. Angel: Yeah. It's a lot easier than redemption, huh? Angel: Get up! You have to get up now. Faith, you have to fight. I need you to fight. Do you understand what i'm saying? Suddenly Faith wakes up and she runs down stairs to the cage where Angelus is. Meanwhile Willow has come to L.A to return Angel's soul and Connor has been told by Evil Cordy to that he has to kill Angel to save everyone. When Faith get's down stairs she sees Connor just about to stake Angel, she picks him up and throws him across the room and they fight. Faith: Break me off a switch, son.. there's about to be a whippin'. While all this is happening Willow finally restores Angel's soul and Angelus is gone and Angel is back. Faith keeps fighting until she throws him towards the cage and Angel gets hold of him and Faith then figures out Angel is back. Willow and Faith say goodbye to everyone and Faith goes with Willow back to Sunnydale to help out Buffy and the Scoobies save the world. Faith and Willow find a girl lying on the road badly hurt while making their trip back to SunnyD. Faith figures out what has been happening and why she was attacked in prison and Willow feels really bad that no one had told her. Faith goes to the graveyard to find Buffy but she finds Spike and she remembers him when she switched bodies with Buffy and thinks he is still evil and attacks him because she saw him attacking a young girl. Spike tells her she's insane because he is on her side now and she says she's reformed and Spike replies with he reformed first, which isn't exactly true. The fighting between these two is interrupted by a lovely punch from Buffy to Faith. Buffy: Sorry, Faith. I didn't realize that was you. Faith: It's all right, B. Luckily, you still punch like you used to. Buffy explains that Spike now has a soul and Faith asks if he's like Angel and Buffy says sort of but Spike says they are nothing alike. Faith stakes the vampire and they go back to the Summer's house. Dawn isn't pleased to see Faith. Dawn: Does she have to stay here? Because there are some nice hotels that welcome tried-to-kill-yout-sister types. Faith: Check it out. Brat's all woman-sized. After being back in Sunnydale Faith can't handle the potentials for much longer. She goes down into the basement for a break and she finds Spike there. They start to talk about their redemption and Faith talks about being in prison and being dangerous for a while and reminds him they have met before and not in the graveyard but when Buffy and Faith switched bodies. Buffy is glad Faith is back in town because she needs her help. They go out searching for the Bringers and find out where they have been hiding. When they get back to the house, Buffy gets everything together and tells them that Caleb has something of hers and she wants it back even though she doesn't know what it is. Giles questions her about her plan and tells her it could be stapler that Caleb has. Buffy, Faith, the potentials who have been there the longest and Spike and Xander set off to fight Caleb at the vineyard. Potentials get hurt badly and some die in the fight and Xander get's hurt badly, he looses an eye. It was all fun and games until somebody looses an eye, the fun and games are over, Buffy feels really bad about Xander and can't deal with it properly. Faith didn't get hurt that bad and got through it okay, she was just thrown around like Buffy was. After Willow and Giles getting information on Caleb, Buffy goes to the hospital to see how Xander is going but can't stay because of her gulit and pain she feels and goes home with the file on Caleb. When Buffy gets back to the house Kennedy and Amanda are haging out with Faith, they seem to get along quite well. Dawn keeps asking Buffy about Xanders mood and how he is and Faith can see that Buffy isn't comfortable with Dawn asking her about Xander so she sends her off to get the other information on Caleb. Buffy tells them all to look for information on Caleb, about his ring the vineyard, anything. Kennedy makes a remark that isn't pleasing at all, she says his ability to render a slayer in one punch. She apologises and says she doesn't know why she said that and Buffy gets up and leaves and tells Kennedy she is fine and tells her not to worry about it. Buffy goes to the school to pick up her things and Caleb arrives and gives her good punch and Buffy is left lying on the ground near broken glass from the window. Meanwhile Faith takes out the potentials and Dawn to the BRONZE for a breather and you can tell they all like Faith and some even say that Buffy would never let them do this. The cops arrive and Faith just thinks they are here to put her back in jail but they are here to kill here. Faith fights them off and the potentials fight too and Buffy finds them fighting and some are drunk. Buffy isn't happy by what she sees and Faith explains and Buffy says she agrees they might have need a little breather but explains they shouldn't be getting drunk or be fighting. She tells the potentials and Dawn to go home, after they leave Buffy punchs Faith on the side of the face, Faith doesn't fight back. After Xander arrives home, Buffy announces that they have to go back to the vineyard. She tells them she has figured out that there must be something important there because the big bads always go somewhere where they are keeping something safe, if there wasn't something there, why would Caleb be there? Why not at the seal or hellmouth? No one thinks it's a good idea, they want more information , proof that something is there before they go again. Everyone turns against Buffy including Dawn and Kennedy says there should be a vote about who should be leader, Faith or Buffy because Anya explained before that Buffy doesn't have to be leader and Buffy says but i'm the Slayer and someone replied with "but Faith is too" . Faith doesn't want to be leader. She never meant for any of this but it happened and Faith questions Buffy if she can follow instead of leading. Buffy says she's gotten them this far, safe for seven years and Xander adds but not without a price. She looks around the room for any support but no one is there for her. Spike wasn't there for her because Giles sent him and Andrew on a mission. Before Buffy leaves she tells them all she knows she's right about this and she can't stay here and watch Faith lead them into some disaster. She leaves and Rona says ding, dong, the witches dead and Dawn tells her to shut her mouth. As Buffy walks out the door Faith follows and tries to explain she didn't want it to go this way and Buffy just tells her to not be afraid to lead them, she tells her to protct them and lead them. She then walks off into the night crying and Faith is now the in-charge chick. After Buffy leaves it's chaos and everyone is debating on what to do next, Faith steps in take take control over the situation and the lights go out because there is no power, all the pontials start to freak out again. Faith comes up with the idea of capturing a Bringer, hoping to find out more information. They find out that the Bringer can't talk so they put on a spell on it so it can and the voice comes from Andrew and it's speaking through him. They find out that the Bringers are building wepaons. Spike ends up finding Buffy at an abondoned house, she's a sleep on the bed. Spike wakes her up and tells her it's chaos back at the house and that she was right all along about the vineyard. The Mayor appears to Faith and tells her she's doing better than Buffy ever did with the potentials and Faith defends Buffy. the Mayor then brings up how Buffy tried to kill her and tellls her Buffy will never see her as anything but a murderer and will try to kill her again.The Mayor says that all Faith ever wanted was for Buffy to love and accept her, but that will never happen. He then disappears. Buffy asks Spike while he's at the abandoned place if he will saty there with her and when Spike wakes up the next morning Buffy has gone and has left a note saying she has gone to the vineyard. Buffy and Caleb have a showdown at the vineyard, she repeats that he has something of hers. She finds a trap door. When she gets down there she finds a special weapon for a Slayer that Caleb and The First have been hiding all this time. Caleb tells her it's hard to pull out of teh rock but Buffy just pulls it out as though she pulled it out of butter. Meanwhile Faith has taken some potentials to go find the weapons the Bringers have been making. They get attacked by Bringers but eventually they are defeated. Faith looks around the place and fins a metal box with a lock. She opens it up and finds a bomb. Faith yells out to the potentisl to get down and the bomb explodes. Many potentials are killed or injured. Kennedy, Vi and Amanda find Faith unconscious. As they try to escape the place ubervamps attack and guess who comes to save the day... Buffy! Buffy and the potentials go back to the house with Faith. Chaos still exsists and people are rushing around everywhere. It seems Buffy is back in charge. When Faith regains consciousness, Buffy shows Faith the special weapon, the Scythe. The two of them talk about being the leader and the loneliness that comes with being the Slayer. "Thank god we're hot chicks with superpowers." (Faith) "Takes the edge off." (Buffy) "Comforting." (Faith) Buffy goes off to find out more about the Scythe. In a secret crypt, a lady named Dora Bates explains to Buffy the history of the weapon's power. Caleb then kills the lady. Buffy and Caleb begin to fight. Buffy gets knocked down and guess whose come to Sunnydale...... Angel! He helps Buffy get off up the ground. . Caleb is about to kill Buffy with the Scythe and Angel comes in and hits him. Buffy tells Angel she has to kill this one alone. As Angel watchs on, Buffy beats Caleb up and stabs him. Angel and Buffy kiss as Spike watches on. The First as Buffy is next to him and says, "That bitch." Buffy and Angel talk and Angel can tell Spike has been around Buffy and you can tell he is jealous. Before Buffy tells Angel to go back to L.A. and prepare the backup front Angel gives Buffy an amulet and a file of information. When Buffy gets home Spike is angry because he saw Buffy and Angel kiss and when Buffy hands over the special amulet to Spike and says only a warrior can wear it he is suprised. Spike: So where's Tall, Dark and Forehead? Buffy: Let me guess. You can smell him. Spike:Yeah, that and I also used my heightened vampire eyeballs to watch you kissing him. That night Buffy stays in the basement with Spike because Faith is still sleeping in her bed. She wakes up during the night and the first as Caleb and then Buffy tries to convince her that she can not win the final fight but Buffy then realises something.. she can and will win. Spike: I'm drowning in footwear! Weird dream. Buffy? Is something wrong? Buffy: No. Yeah. I just realised something. Something that really never occured to me before. We're gonna win. The next moring we see Buffy talking to the gang about the plan but we don't discover their plan until later on. It's one big plan that goes against everything ever- every generation has has ever done in teh fight against evil but it's a bloody brillent plan and it's all about power. Buffy talks to the potentials and asks them to make a final choice. Buffy: Right now you're asking yourself, "What makes this different? What makes us anything but a bunch of girls being picked off one by one?" It's true none of you have the power Faith and I do. So here's the part where you make a choice. Everyone heads over to the highschool who wants to be part of the final fight and there's only one rule... Robin: If they move, kill them. Faith takes the potentials to the seal while Buffy and the gang say their last words before heading into the final fight. They talk about what they will do tomorrow, go to the mall and go shopping. All Giles has to say is... Giles: The earth is definately doomed. Buffy tries to say something to Dawn earlier on but she tells Buffy whatever she says will sound like goodbye to her. Willow starts her magic off and Kennedy helps Willow by keeping her grounded. Buffy heads off to the seal where Faith and the potentials are. They all use a knife to cut themselves to get enough blood to open the seal and enter the hellmouth. They go to the edge of of what looks like a cliff and Spike, Faith and Buffy look over the edge and an army of ubervamps see them and start charging... the magic Willow is doing hasn't started yet and the potentials have to fight. Everyone in in the hellmouth is fighting but soon enough the people in the school above start fighting too. A few ubervamps get out and Xander, Andrew, Anya, Giles and Robin are now part of the fight too. Willow finishes her part of the plan. Willow has just used the essence of the scythe to change the destiny of every girl who could have the power.. will have the power.It's not just Buffy's power anymore, it's all their power. Kennedy: You.....are a goddess. Willow: And you're are a Slayer. Willow: That was nifty! So Kennedy races down to the hellmouth with the scythe and it gets passed around from Slayer to Slayer and they fight the good fight but some won't leave the battle ground, some die fighting for their lives... Amanda and Anya. Buffy nearly doesn't make it... you gets cut into and falls to the ground. Faith sees this happen and rushes over to help her. Buffy gives her the sycthe and Faith goes off to dust some more vampires. The First appears to Buffy as Buffy. The First looks exactly the same as her, it even has the same wound. Buffy/ The first: On no....ow! Mommy, this mortal wound is all.. itchy. You pulled a nice trick. You came pretty close to smacking me down. What more do you want? Buffy: I want you.. to get out of my face. Buffy gets up onto her feet and keeps fighting. Spike then stumbles back against the wall of the cavern, feeling the amulet take effect. Something shoots up out of it, blasting through the roof, showering the Vamp in a circle of bright sunlight.The light shoots through the amulet and vaporizes all the ubervamps one after the other, eventually beginning to destroy the cavern. Everyone runs out of the cavern, out of the Hellmouth, up into the school and out to the bus. Xander calls for Anya, unable to see Anya's dead body and is forced to leave her behind. Faith runs out with the new Slayers and makes sure everyone is safe, even Robin. Buffy stays with Spike till the very end. He catches on fire because of the sunlight. They hold hands and their hands are on fire. Spike tells Buffy to go and Buffy tells him she loves him. Spike tells her no you don't and says thanks for saying it anyways. He tells Buffy to go and that he has to do this, he can feel it in his soul. Spike: I wanna see how this ends. He starts to burning up and eventually turns into dust, Spike dies saving the world. Buffy races through the highschool as the floor is falling everywhere. She makes it out of the school but the bus has gone with everyone on it. Buffy chases after the bus and jumps on top of it. Once the bus is far enough away from the mess left behind it stops and Buffy climbs down off the top. Dawn runs over to hug her. Andrew: Why didn't I die? Andrew explains to Xander how Anya died saving his life, and that doesn't suprise Xander. Wood is badly injured, but he'll be okay. Faith stays on the bus a little while with Wood and it looks like he can't open one eye but he is just playing games with Faith. Faith is about to put her hand near his eye and he opens it up and says suprise. Everyone is out of the bus. Giles, Dawn, Willow, Faith and Xander go over to where Buffy is standing looking at the mess that Sunnydale once was. Buffy is no longer the only Chosen, no longer alone. They saved the world, they changed the world and they need to find the new Slayers. Faith: Looks like the Hellmouth is officially closed for business. Giles: There is another one in Cleveland.
