As a child,I only had about 4 of these pieces of Britains plastic farm figures that my Grandmother gave me in the early 1970's. Only one has survived. Being a country boy, I loved my farm toys. When I decided to collect farm toys, the best quality pieces available were made by Britains.
Herald was a company taken over by Britains in the 1950's. In my opinion, the Herald plastic farm toys are the best ever produced! The sculpting and quality of finish is unequalled. Collecting the farm toys led me into collecting the Britains/Herald lines of plastic zoo, showjumping, trees, and floral garden series shortly after. There is also a smattering of Swoppet Wild West and Knights, and Eyes Right American civil War figures. Sometimes I wonder whether my collecting boundaries have any end.....
