The team got off to a slow start as the Patriots took an early 1-3 lead. Alex Cogdill then, served up four straight points to help the team take a 5-3 lead. But, the Patriots would battle back to tie the score at 5-5. Dawn Davies would serve up the next three points to help the team regain the lead at 8-5. Then, with the score 8-6, Megan Peranick would serve up four straight points to help the team increase their lead to 12-6. Two kills by Megan Roehl and a Patriot error gave the team a 15-7 win.. The team started off well in the second game. Julie Geissert (one service point) and Nikki Ciapponi (three service points) helped the team take an early 4-0. Then, with the score 4-2, Emily Barr served up three straight points to help the team increase their lead to 7-2. A nice slide by Samantha Surface, two service points by Lauren Yamaoka and suddenly the team had a commanding 11-4 lead. But, the Patriots would not quit and battled back to cut the lead to 11-7 and then to 13-11. Then, with the score 14-13, the Patriots would score the next three straight points to pull out a 14-16 win. The team regrouped in the third game. Two service aces by Julie Geissert, a kill by Nikki Ciapponi, a kill by Sarah Vargas, and a Patriot error gave the team an early 5-0 lead. Then, with the score 5-1, Julie Geissert would serve up another two points to give the team a commanding 7-1 lead. But, the Patriots would battle back to cut the lead to 8-6 and then to 9-8. That was as close as it would get as the team scored the next six straight points to win by a final score of 15-8. The fourth game started out in a close battle with scores of 2-2, 6-5, 7-5, 7-7, 8-8, 8-9, and 9-10. But, with the score 10-11, the Patriots would score the next four straight points to win by a final score of 10-15 and force a fifth and deciding game. The fifth game would start out in a see saw battle with scores of 1-1, 2-2, 3-4, 4-5, and 6-6. Then, with the score 7-6, two straight kills by Nikki Ciapponi would help the team take a 9-6 lead. But, the Patriots would battle back to make the score close at 11-10. Nikki Ciapponi then took over with a kill and two service points to help the team increase their lead to 14-10. Then, with the score 14-12, Sarah Vargas ended the game with a kill to help the team to a 15-12 win. Alex Cogdill led the way with a serving percentage of 1.00 (16 for 16) followed by Emily Barr with a serving percentage of 1.00 (12 for 12). Nikki Ciapponi led the team with 14 service points followed by Julie Geissert with 13 service points. Nikki Ciapponi led the team with 13 kills followed by Megan Roehl with 12 kills. Alex Cogdill led the team with 15 digs followed by Nikki Ciapponi with 8 digs each. Great job team!
