Bush Hill Stud was founded in the 60's., starting out as a thoroughbred stud, breeding race horses such as Bush Larrikin, Bush Baron and Killarnie. In the late seventies the purchase of Delta Rise, a black QH/TB cross marked the move into performance horses (2 of his fillies are now amongst the foundation stock. In 1987 Tharna was purchased as a 3 year old and went on to become more than just a stallion but more like a member of the family. In his short show career he obtained numerous ribbons as well as championship awards. Gilbachtal Lorenzo joined the team in late 1989, he carries some of the top performance bloodlines available such as Ludendorf, Ferdinand and Monopol, and has proven to us that he is a sire of performance horses. He has sired dressage, eventers, and hacks some of his better known progeny include Monopol's Surprise, Falkyrie and BH Wildfire. Be sure to keep your eyes open around the circuits for BH Romper Stomper soon as well as BH Luciano. Gilbachtal Lorenzo has also sired premium ACE foals and has proven to be an ideal stallion for Arabian and TB mares.
We recently acquired the lease of Tarquin's Mega Buck, a beautiful American Saddlebred colt who we expect to mature around 15.1hh, he has presence, refinement and TROT!!! he will stand at Bush Hill Stud in late 2002 at open stud. He carries topclass bloodlines including Bright Guy, Stonewall Sensation, Oman's Desdemona Denmark and Knolland Dark Demon. He is sure to be a showstopper!
In the near future we hope to import a colt from Germany so that we can further improve our studstock and provide top class horses for competitors of all disciplines.
