THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT
Christmas is a time of cheer,
but sadly sometimes
brings a tear.
For the homeless man,
his meal long gone,
had dampened the season’s
Christmas song.
But when all seemed hopeless
and all seemed sad,
the Christmas spirit
set heavily on my Dad.
So he put on his coat,
his hat, and his gloves,
and left the house
on a mission of love.
He looked for the homeless man
cold and without,
and stretched forth his hand
to help him out.
Now it wasn’t how much
my Dad could do,
but a heart that was eager
to see this through.
The Christmas message came home to rest,
On Dad and my family,
the season’s best.
“Merry Christmas”.
