As I climb up the stairs
Watching everybody
Staring back at me
This isn't just another festive occasion
Stars in the heavens with its crescent moon
Inviting angels to join in
Summer air envelopes us
Fire in the corner
Providing heat on the outside
Yet you supply a warm feeling inside.
As I stand here
Staring at the most beautiful creature
Palms sweating, knees shaking
Like moving in the midst of a shifting sand
With one hand holding me
Stopping me from quivering
With the other, caressing my face
A wonderful touch and full of grace
With promises, this I speak
Words I've been keeping for over a week.
As I look you in the eye
This day, I make my vow
With everything I have to offer
My soul to care, be my lover
My spirit to watch over you
All my strengths and weaknesses
To compliment in all your ways
In warm days of summer
and cold nights of winter
Hold my hand and walk this road with me.
