BUNGENDORE VOLUNTEER
RURAL FIRE BRIGADE

The Bungendore Volunteer Rural Fire Brigade was founded in XXXX to protect the pastoral village of Bungendore and the surrounding areas.
The village itself is set some 35 kms to the East of Canberra on the main Kings Highway coast road, which connects Canberra to the South Coast.
Currently the village has some 600 residential properties, a school, Railway station, two public houses, a number of restaurants, shops and tourist attractions and a small industrial area. The surrounding district is still predominantly grazing land, although some Rural-residential subdivision has taken place. In all the area now has somewhere in the region of 3,000 residents.

The brigade is responsible for the safety and protection of all these premises and residents and also responds to MVA incidents along about 30kms of the very busy kings highway.
Currently the brigade has in the region of 40 serving members and six vehicles including a rather unique fluoro-green urban pumper.
