Howdy Fellow Commodore Users!

Did you miss last month's food fest? There was plenty of yummy food for all. Hopefully Santa was good to all of you, and brought you some wonderful goodies for your Commodore setup. Santa did bring me something for my Commodore this year, unfortunately only the 128 got this year's honors, and it was a few days after Christmas.

A few weeks back I found a notice posted on comp.sys.cbm:

Hey all,

Well, I am nearing completion of patching up the old version of my "Refound" game. See below for details:

I hope to have a version ready by Christmas. The game is a Commodore 128-only adventure game in 40 column mode. I'll send it to those interested after December 25th. Please e-mail me at "dunric@yahoo.com" if interested.

Ok, back to coding... :)

Regards,

Paul Panks

If you have a C128, I'll be bringing copies of this program to the meeting. Here is the letter he enclosed with the disk:

Here it is. 70% of the original is here as it was. The rest has been lost to time. Thus 30% of it is essentially memory. For those who wish to know, this game evolved out of many hours of thought and hard labor. But it is free for all to enjoy and distribute.

It works only on the Commodore 128 (in 40 column mode). The game makes extensive use of the advanced capabilities the 128 enjoys, including sprites and 64K of separate array space. Such a game would not be possible on the 64 or even Plus/4. Thus those who have a 128 will benefit the most.

I also played Santa for a few Commodore users looking for some long lost programs. VideoCam is now offering the Compuserve collection on CD (the very same as we have in our library). Jeff Ledger was looking for a long lost program MICRORAM.BBS. David Vogel was looking for a program DEBLITZER. Charles Duncan was looking for a collection of Pinball games, and he now has them 0on his website: http://grandheaven.hypermart.net/ with credit going to yours truly. All of these individuals could not have gotten these programs without the collection from GEnie.

I'll see you at this month's meeting on January 19th! Keep on Commodoring!
