Howdy Fellow Commodore Users!
We have a new meeting place for the July 17th meeting. The Norwood
Retirement Community is located on 1500 Sherman Avenue, in Norwood.
For those familiar with Norwood, it is at the intersection of Sherman
Avenue, Reading Road, and Victory Parkway, with the entry/driveway
off of Sherma Avenue. Parking is available anywhere on the property,
with several handicap accessible parking spaces. Crazy me didn't get
the room number if there was one, but the directions inside the
building are pretty easy anyway. As soon as you enter the building,
take a left, where you will pass the receptionist office, and go down
the hall just a little bit to the meeting room, which should be on
your left. The itinerary for this month's meeting is the election of
officers for the next term. So, if you wish to run for office, or
know someone who is dying to be an officer, nominations will be
accepted that day as well.
August 21st, a club picnic is planned instead of our usual monthly
meeting. Caldwell Playground has been chosen again to be the
location. It is located at the intersection of Dillward and North
Bend Road in Carthage. This park is between Mill Creek and the
railroad, so if you crossed both, you went too far. Don't forget your
covered dish filled with yummy food. The club will be bringing soft
drinks, ice, paper plates, cutlery, cups, and an assortment of chips.
Oh, one other thing, bring your appetite, too!
Looking ahead, in October, we will be doing an inventory of
hardware located at our Vice-President's farm. Volunteers are needed
to help call off serial numbers, move stuff around, help with the
organization, etc. Since that is several months down the road, you
can still juggle your schedule around to help a bit. The hours will
be from 10am until it is done, probably before 6pm. At 10AM a
pre-inventory briefing will be held, with expected start time of
10:30AM. Six volunteers are needed, which should help speed things up
a bit. Just like last time, food and refreshments will be provided at
lunch time. Anyone staying as late as dinner time might have some
leftovers, depending on how hungry the crowd was at lunch time.
