Howdy Fellow Commodore Users!
C=4 Expo 2009 is now in the past. We would like to hear some
feedback regarding this year's expo. Did you like it during the
Memorial Day weekend? Would you like it to have been earlier? Or
perhaps even June? What did you like or dislike at this year's expo?
These answers plus any additional comments you send us, will help us
to make plans for a 2010 expo.
Earlier this year, Geocities announced their closure. The date is
finally set for that to happen. According to their website, it will
happen on October 26th. In the meantime we have plenty of time to get
ready for that transition. It has been suggested our club website be
absorbed into the http://c4expo.org/
website. I think it is a great idea, since that will centralize our
information all on one website. If you have a better idea, please
bring it up at one of our meetings or email/phone your ideas to one
of the club officers.
By the time you read this I will have finished making the updates
to our CCCC website promoting our 2009 expo. To find the information,
go to the bottom right corner where you will see the links to the
previous expos. They are arranged by date. So far, only three sets of
photos are there. If you know of others, please let me know so I can
add them to the list, so others can check them out. Also, if you know
of any reviews of our expo on the web I would be interested in
hearing about those as well.
We need to still elect officers for the 2009/10 term. As of this
writing, there has not been nominations for officers. Normally
elections happens in May, so we are kind of late on this important
business. We have been gaining new members thru our expos, and I
would like to see some of those members step up to the plate to help
with the continuation of the club. Some officers are holding the same
positions for years, and perhaps a new direction is needed for the
new members that have joined. I have been active in the club since
the early 90s, and have been president for a decade, and newsletter
editor before that. One of the benefits of being an officer is not
having to pay club dues. Plus you get to be a famous personality in
one of the better clubs in the United States.
This month thru the rest of the year we will be meeting at the
Retirement Community. So, I'll see you at this month's meeting on
July 19th.
Keep on Commodoring!
