Howdy fellow Commodore Users!
At this month's meeting, prepare to bring an appetite instead of a
computer to our club meeting. We decided to throw a picnic at our
August 20th meeting. Bring your favorite picnic goodies, a covered
dish (with something good to eat inside), and your eating utensils.
Check our club's webpage for a map.
For
Directions from our meeting place to Caldwell Park
I'm sure there will be a map in the newsletter, as well. For those
who are good at not getting lost, it's on North Bend Road in
Carthage, on the 300 block. The name of the park is Caldwell Park.
There is only one shelter, and we will try to all be there, and ready
to eat promptly at 2. Some of the things to do include a playground,
a pool, a baseball diamond, and lots of lawn area for maybe a game of
tug-of-war?
While I was talking with Roger Hoyer this month, it suddenly
dawned on me that September was fast approaching, and now is that
time of the year to start planning for Chicago's Expo. In past years,
notible visitors such as Jim Butterfield, and the stand out members
of other clubs, Maurice Randall from Lansing Area Commodore Club,
Dale Sidebottom from LUCKY, along with the local talent from the
South West Regional Association of Programmers, made it an
interesting show with their various demos. September 23, 2000 is the
date, 9 AM - 5 PM is the time, Ramada Inn - Chicago South Interstate
80 & Halsted Ave North Harvey, Illinois is the location. This is
located on the Southern End of Chicago, close to the Indiana border,
average drive time from northern Cincinnati is about 6 hours. If you
plan to go don't forget you also change time zones ( that happens on
the way there, and on the way back...btw)
Just a week later September 30th, our club will be participating
at the Sharonville Convention Center for the Tradeshow Productions
Computer Show. We have a few volunteers, but need more for this two
day show. Please let one of the officers know if you can help.
Don't forget to bring some good food, and an appetite on August
20th!
Happy Commodoring!
