Tom Baker - (Musical Direction)
|
Sean Ballantyne -
(The Tree) - Still
relatively new to the world of acting, Sean has spent two years learning
as much as possible about the world of performance. His first big role was with The On Kew Players production
of Lord Arthur Saviles Crime, where he played Lord Arthur.
Sean spent the next two seasons with On Kew in such productions as An
Ideal Husband, Twelfth Night and Pride and Prejudice.
In addition, Sean has studied improv at The Second City, and
recently graduated from the inaugural year of the Comedy Writing and
Performance program at Humber College.
This is Seans first role with Cabbagetown, and he hopes its
not his last.

Lada
Darewych -
(Dame Tinney, Props) - Lada
Darewych is very excited about her debut with Cabbagetown as Dame Tinney.
What a treat to be playing the mean and nasty character for once!
Acting is Laras apple of contentment and she couldnt
wish for a better group of people to work with.
It has been fun! Watch
for Ladas upcoming appearances as Maggie in Lend Me A Tenor with
the Scarborough Players. As
always, thanks beyond belief and much love to Kieren.
And finally, to all you kids (young and at heart) enjoy the
show!
|
Rob Eddy -
(The King) - Robert
has been involved in theatre for the past 10 years.
He was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, but realized it was better
to study elsewhere. Hes
taken classes at The Vancouver Film School, attended Dalhousie University
and studied at Equity Showcase in Toronto.
Robert is involved in the local film industry.
He is represented by Reinhart Perkins and has been involved in the
soon-to-be-released teen flick Getting Over Alison and is starring
in Applebys Dilemma, a short film. He also pursues work in
commercials. This is
Roberts first childrens play since he was in Peter Pan 10
years ago, and he is very excited to be a member of the Apple of
Contentment cast.

Joan
Fenton - (Props, FOH Volunteer)
|
Stephen
Flett (Web Site) - Steve
recently completed his fourth Fringe: this time as Oberon
and Theseus in Cabbagetown's A Midsummer Night's Dream Project. Other
Fringes include: the title character
in Cabbagetown's Pseudolus last year (which he also enjoyed
co-writing), and Dottore in
Canadia dell Artes The Venetian Elopement (or Gondola With The Wind).
Previous Cabbagetown performances include Hepatitis in God, The
Doctor in The Enchanted and Poe in The Raven.
He has also directed four shows for Cabbagetown's annual Slaw
Festival. Recently, he appeared as Marc Antony in Julius Caesar and
as Warwick in St. Joan - both with Upstart Crow.
Other favourite roles include Stanley in Run For Your Wife
and Vanya in Uncle Vanya.
Steve received his
theatre training at Queens University and in England. Other interests
include singing (he has thumped a bodhran and sung on two albums). His
eclectic career spans 25 years and over 120 shows, from Slaw Festival to
Shaw Festival. He's planning on some Poe next in Ghostlore II.
|
Elena Kaufman -
(Christine) - Elena
recently finished a film project at York University, based on social
attitudes towards manic depression. She was last seen on stage as Cassius
in Julius Caesar with the Upstart Crow Theatre Co. at The Poor
Alex. She is now happy to have been welcomed into the magical world of
contentment in this play, and thanks the cast and crew for much laughter.
Also, she would like to inspire all of the little people in the audience
to reach for their own golden apple!

Dave McQuiston
- (Set Construction) |
Peter Lee - (Flyer / Poster Design)
|
Victoria Pearce - (Costumes)
|
Sarah Robinson -

Web, Sarah Robinson is as pleased as punch to be performing for
children once again (this time as a human) for Cabbagetown Theatre.
She can also be seen in a grown up show this fall, in Tribal
Productions Jitters, at The Toronto Centre for Performing Art.
|
Julie Rush -
(Stage Manager) |
Kim Sprenger
- (Producer, Box Office, Publicity) - Kim used to do the
publicity thing full time but is grateful that she now only has to do it
for theatre gigs! Kim has worked with Cabbagetown Theatre for six years
now, acting in everything from Jitters, God
and Seven Stories, to commedia dell'arte works like The
Phantom Father. She has acted in and produced the CTC's Annual 'Slaw
Festival too many times to mention, and has given Steve Flett the
inimitable pleasure of directing her in three different 'Slaw shows. She
will put on her producer's hat (it's wide-brimmed and floppy, but with a
stern sort of look to it) to produce CTC's kids' show that will be staged
in the Toronto Necropolis and Crematorium from September 8 - 10, as part
of the annual Cabbagetown Festival. Then it's on to scare people silly in
our Hallowe'enie show! |
Bert Steinmanis - (Director)
|
Blake Thorne
(Advertising Sales, Raffle) - A man of many talents and a generous soul. The heart of the company. He produces, directs, acts, sells program ads,
collects overdue bills, drinks beers, hangs lights, and
sells raffle tickets. His CTC stage time includes Ghost Lore,
Shadows of Angels, Jitters, Departures and Arrivals,
Air Talk, The Visit, and Final Supper, He
produced last year's Fringe hit, Pseudolus, Bad Habits,
'Slaw
98 and was Executive Producer for 'Slaw 97. Blake directed
Dark Continent last year, and Downtown for
'Slaw 2000, which he also produced ("I'm-not-really-producing-this"), and
hung the lights.
And he saved the day by stepping in to
fill a sick actor's part in Walkin' Earl. Most recently he
produced A Midsummer Night's Dream Project.
