I am so glad this week is finally over! I got assigned to a "pod" this (Friday) afternoon and I'm going to be sitting with a girl from my induction group who is also from campbelltown. I'm also looking forward to meeting the other people there and being part of the company as a whole, not just a one of a dozen newbies in training. I'm not too stressed about taking calls, I'm pretty confident I have the basics down and it will only take being shown something one or two times if I forget it. Within a week or two I should be fine.

I had a really nice night. I went out for a drink with my training group after work, and it was weird because I'm probably not going to be having much contact with some of them after this, but it was good to celebrate getting through training! Then Guppy called to ask if I wanted to do something tonight rather than tomorrow as we originally planned and I was fine with that so we went to see a movie - Stuck on You, with Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear, a damn funny movie - and then went for a few drinks and a chat at a local bar.

I can't say with 100% certainty that he enjoyed the night as much as I did, but I think (and I hope) that he did. There wasn't much awkwardness, I was very comfortable with him, conversation flowed, and he seemed capable of holding his own against me (or was it vice versa?). Are those the KPI's of a successful date? Generally I'd say yes, but you never really know what another person is thinking or how they're feeling, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

In any case, I was really attracted to him and I hope it was mutual, because I'd like to see where this could go. But even if it doesn't go beyond platonic, he seems like a good person to have as a friend. I will say that it's been a while since I met anyone I clicked with on a personality level as much as I feel we did. He impressed me as being someone I could quite happily be with. Compatibility can be refreshing, and it really puts everything else I've been stressing over into perspective, right in the trivial bin where it should have been to begin with.

Anyway, am tired so will hit the hay.
