The Sickening Truth

by Natsumi

It was about 10 in the morning when the guys got started with their work. Much to their disappointment, there weren't any customers. Yes, even schoolgirls didn't come barging in.

"Ken, arrange the bougainvillea and those lilies over there. I know it's probably a dirty work but somebody must do it." Aya said pointing to Yoji's masterpiece.

Yoji merely scowled and made rude remarks. Ken didn't feel like doing the chore. In fact he hated being told and bossed around. He hated floral arrangements. Although Aya's tone was very offensive, he was right. Particularly to the flowers, they were in a bad shape and they really were unattractive. But if Aya said so…

Omi was actually spying on Ken, thinking that this will go on through a romantic novel.

"I'll probably have to work on the publishing rights and warranties." Omi said. He was giggling and having a fun time while everyone was actually sweatdropping and thinking Omi was beginning to look like Aya-kun.

The telephone rang and Aya blurted.

"Koneko no Sumu ei Flower Shop, Aya speaking. What kind of flowers? Where? OK we'll have it over, bye…"

Everyone sweatdropped and drooled over Aya's weird answers. A TV reporter came in and said a possible new time record for the Guinness Book of World Records for having a flower shop delivery order.

The lady ordered a dozen of expensive roses. Aya immediately ordered Omi to bring the flowers and practically disturbed him on his money ambitions. Aya was too busy imagining yen being stuffed in his piggybank.

While he was savoring the adoration, Yoji crouched in his seat and yawned, cupping his chin in his hands. No customers came and unfortunately, no silhouettes of women appeared in the glass doors. Aya sighed as he looked in the cash register. Not even a penny was inside.

Sarcastically Yoji lied helplessly in the couch. He gestures Aya to look at his face. Intensely his eyes grew bigger and images of colored roses settled beside him. Aya sighed once more.

"Okay, fine. I'll buy lunch." Aya said reluctantly while Yoji was jumping for joy and doing a victory dance.

Minutes later, thunders were booming, the pitchfork lightning was leaving a faint of its silhouette. And silently, the sky sprinkled in drops of rain. Aya was starting to get troubled and worried.

"Poor Omi. And I didn't remind him to bring an umbrella. " Aya said looking at Yoji. Aya and Yoji's eyes met.

"Waah! Oh no my poor baby!" Aya remarked while Yoji is comforting him and handing him a tissue.

"The poor thing must be shivering." Yoji said imagining Omi and having goosebumps rising from his skin.

"Don't remind me about it!" Aya cried wailing and bawling more and more.

"What will happen to him?" Aya added. Yoji was being sincere and showing his concern by nodding his head in Aya's worried statements.

Moments later Ken's heinous voice echoed through the hall.

"Achoo!" Ken sneezed uncontrollably.

Aya and Yoji hugged each other in fright. Besides the fact that Ken's uncontrollable sneezing was deafening, they didn't want to pay any hospital bills yet.

Aya looked at Ken worriedly as his nose turned red.

"This will be a big craze especially in Christmas. You'll probably make a cute Rudolf." Yoji said hooting with laugher.

"Ken-kun are you okay?" Aya asked ignoring Yoji's insulting prank.

"Oh Aya-kun I didn't know you cared!" Ken blushed, his face appearing a deep touch of red. Fans cheered and chatted at the sweet sight.

"Why didn't you tell me you were allergic to bougainvillea? Aya asked.

"It sort of slipped my mind." Ken said while everyone fell out of balance.

Minutes later, Omi came with the same fate like Ken. He was sneezing uncontrollably and Yoji had to hand him again on another one of his tissues.

"They look terrible!" Yoji exclaimed.

Apparently Ken caught Omi's fever after Omi faced the raging storm.

"I was trying to prove I was strong and I could fulfill my dreams…"Omi continued but Aya interrupted.

"Bah, stop that Omi"

"Darn and just when I thought I'll win the Emmy Awards for Best Actor." Omi said in agony.

"You mean actress, right?" Yoji beamed and laughed again.

Aya ushered Ken and Omi to get their deserved rest and ordered Yoji to run to the drug store to save his comrades. Soon Aya helped them out and tried to show them he actually cared for them and tried to be patient.

"Aya-kun, where's Yoji-kun? We're suffering from headaches you know!" The two squealed in pain.

Aya was pooped up and sank to his couch. He found out to have a high temperature and waken up by Yoji.

"Thank goodness!" Yoji said.

Yoji was so shook up. He never thought he was going to see corpses in the living room.

"Stop it or I'll clobber you up!" Aya retorted once more, getting his katana.

Yoji soon did the weaklings' bidding afraid to face Aya's evil-like wrath.

"Yoji can you bring me some bananas? I need to stay healthy you know." Ken remarked.

"Yoji I need an aspirin!" Aya retorted.

"Yoji can you help me to the bathroom?" Omi asked, holding his belly.

"Yoji I said bananas not apples. Make me apple juice!" Ken ordered.

"Ken you need to understand. You're becoming to be a vain person. That's vanity I tell you!"

"Yoji I want water." Aya added.

"Just clobber yourself to take that aspirin, 'kay?"

"Can you clean up the mess?" Omi asked.

"Er… why not clean it up yourself? I'm too chicken."

"YOJI!"

"Bunch of slops!" Yoji said annoyed.

"Now I got the headache!"
