How to find the settings applied through GPO in Windows XP
Did you ever ask yourself how the settings defined by Group Policy Objects is applied to the domain computers ? Did you ever ask yourself which setting comes from which policy ? If the answer is yes, and you did not find out until now how to do it, read on.
One way to launch Microsoft Management Console (acronym: MMC) is to follow these steps:
Start -> Run...
mmc
Resultant Set of Policy (acronym: RSoP) must be added to the previously launched MMC:
File -> Add/Remove Snap-in ...
Add/Remove Snap-in
window click the Add
buttonResultant Set of Policy
Add
button and then click the Close
buttonAdd/Remove Snap-in
window click the OK
buttonGather the results (acronym: ... I am joking, of course...). After you have completed the previous steps, do this:
Resultant Set of Policy
tree item and select Generate RSoP Data ...
Next
button until it says Finish
Finish
