This is a non-profit, privately-operated informational site, which is intended for personal and educational use, and as a contact point for those in crisis.
The purpose of this site is to educate pet bird owners about PBFD, and the potential consequences that PBFD can inflict on all psittacine species worldwide.
We feel that there is an urgent need to inform the public about PBFD, because we became aware of the magnitude of this disease when this site generated a huge response after it’s debut in 1999.
Another frightening factor is that PBFD is widely unknown and undetected by many bird owners who are either unaware that this disease exists, or unaware that it poses any threat to them.
We will offer our emotional support and try to direct you to a Veterinarian near you or a Professional to answer your questions.
We realize that PBFD is not only a financially devastating disease, but an emotionally frustrating experience as well. We can offer you a shoulder to lean on or a hand to hold. Most of all, we offer you hope!
We will try to continue to offer the most current information possible, along with information on how to contact testing laboratories or veterinarians and information on what you can do to protect your current and future birds.
