Here is a picture of what I like to call "Nectar-tubes".

(The nectar in this picture is only about an hour old, but didn't turn out looking very well on film.)

Nectar-tubes are ideal for feeding nectar. The ones I have are made by "Top Wing" and are basically your universal 2 day food/waterers for birds. This particular tube is made of glass, but they're also available in plastic.

I first mix the nectar in a large bowl. Then, I use a funnel to dump nectar into each clean tube for each lory. (Please remember to discard nectar after 4 hrs on hot days -6 hrs on cool days.)

These tubes are ideal because as you know, lories are famous for 'squirting'. Alot of times when nectar is fed at the bottom/front of the cage -in standard parrot food dishes, these squirts can land in their nectar. Bad infections can result. The nectar-tubes are perfect because you can hang them up high, near the perches, which minimizes contamination.

And for those of you with breeding pairs, you know how dangerous feeding your lories can be! This eliminates that problem because the nectar-tubes fasten on to the outside of the cage.

All in all, I'm very happy with these little tubes.
