Ultimate FF7:Gold Chocobo

A chocobo is a big help during the game, but there is a way to breed a special golden chocobo. It has unique capabilities unlike other wild chocobos, it allows you to walk along rivers, walk over mountains or cliffs,walk up waterfalls, or even across the ocean! It can travel practically everywhere.

To breed this special chocobo, you need to have a lot of time, patience, and gil. When I made my first attempt to breed one, I practically tore my room apart trying to get the right genders and kinds so as a warning, I am promising you that you must have a ton of patience, but I am also promising you that when you get a gold chocobo, it is worth all that time and patience because you can get many special and powerful materias that you can only recieve with a Golden Chocobo.

Follow the following steps in order to recieve a Golden Chocobo:

1)After you have acquired the Highwind in Disc 2 or 3, return to the Chocobo farm and go inside the house. You will see a man standing there. Talk to him and choose the first option which will enable you to purchase stalls. It's best to purchase six stalls, but they are very expensive(10,000 gil each). You can purchase four, but you will have to release the chocobos that you don't need to make room for your new ones.

2) After you have done this, get on your airship and fly to the Chocobo Sage's house. It is located on the north continent somewhere. Since it is not on the map, you must find it yourself. The house is surrounded by a small patch of grass. Land on the patch of grass and equip the steal materia to one of your characters. Walk around on the grass until you battle a large, red dinosaur like monster and continue to steal until you receive one Carob nut. After that, you can either run away or kill it. If you attempt to kill it, I'm warning you that it has a bunch of HP, so I'd choose to run away. Repeat this process until you get 3 Carob nuts.

3) Fly to the chocobo tracks near the place where you find Cloud in Disc 2. Save your game because if you get the wrong type or gender, you will have to reset and try again. Equip the Chocobo Lure materia and walk around until you find a chocobo. Capture the chocobo by killing all the monsters that are surrounding the chocobo. You have kill the monsters quickly or else the Chocobo will be scared and run away. Once you have successfully killed all the monsters, you will be riding the Chocobo. Dismount and you will have two options that will appear. Choose the first option which sends the Chocobo back to the Chocobo farm. You may want to do this a few times because you need the right type and gender.

4)Fly back to the Chocobo farm and walk into the stables. Talk to the kid who is standing in the middle (Choco Billy) and choose the option that says moving chocobos. Choose two Great Chocobo's and stick them in your stall making sure that they are different genders. Now if you did find two Great Chocobos and they are opposite genders, go back outside and save. If you didn't get the right type or gender, reset and try to capture some again.

5) Now that you have two Great Chocobos of opposite genders, talk to Choco Billy and choose the option that says mating chocobos. Choose the two Great chocobos and mate them using one of the Carob nuts that you stole from the red dinosaur. Once you have mated them wait until a screen appears that shows what your Chocobo looks like. Hopefully it is green. If it is yellow or blue, reset and try again. It may take a while, but sooner or later you should end up with a green Chocobo. (NOTE: make sure you remember what gender your chocobo is.)

6) Now, it isn't possible to mate the two Chocobos again because you can't mate ones that have just mated, so you will have to waste time until they are ready to mate again. While you are doing this, fly back to the Chocobo Sage's house and land on the grassy spot. This time go inside the house. You will see a short dude and a green chocobo. If you talk to the Chocobo, you receive materia, but right now you need to talk to the Sage. He will offer to sell you things. If you have enough money, buy 40 of the ones that cost 5000 gil each (Sylkis Greens).

7) Now, fly back to the Chocobo farm and save your game. Then go inside the stables and see if you can mate your two Great chocobos again. If not, waste time, but if you can, mate the two together using a Carob Nut. You will need a Blue Chocobo that is the opposite gender of your Green Chocobo. I promise you that getting a Blue Chocobo is probably the hardest to breed. You may have to reset a whole bunch of times.

8) If you ever did get a Blue Chocobo that is the opposite gender of your green one, talk to Choco Billy again and choose the option "feeding chocobos". He will ask you which greens you would like to feed your chocobo. Choose the Sylkis Greens (the ones you bought from the Chocobo Sage) and feed 10 to your Green and 10 to your Blue Chocobo. This should raise their speed, stamina, and intelligence.

9) Now, here comes the fun part, fly to North Corel and take the sky lift to the Gold Saucer. Go to the Chocobo racing arena and talk to the lady who is standing near the 'Staff Room' door. She will ask you if you want to race your Chocobo. Then she will ask which Chocobo you want to race and which course, long or short, you want to race in. Choose either your green or blue chocobo to race and either course, it doesn't matter which course you race in. The point of racing your two Chocobos is to raise their race ranking from C being the slowest, to A being some of the fastest. You must win first place three times to raise their ranking up one level.

10) Once you have raised your green and blue chocobo's ranking up to A, you will need to breed them, so go back to the Chocobo farm and save once again. Talk to Choco Billy and mate your green and blue together. If they still aren't ready to mate because they are newborns, you will have to waste time again. When they are ready to mate, mate them using your last Carob nut. You will, no matter what, get a black chocobo. Keep note of its gender.

11) Fly to an island that is northeast of the chocobo farm. Walk into the forest and wander around until you battle a little monster with punching gloves. Steal from it and you should recieve a Zeio Nut off of it. If not, kill it and you should receive one as an item that you receive after battle.

12) Now, fly to the Chocobo tracks on the western edge of the Northern Continent. There are dashing chocobos here. You will need to capture a Wonderful chocobo. Hint: only catch the chocobos that are only with hopping rabbits. They must NOT be with any wolves or else you will get a horrible chocobo. This takes a long time because a chocobo with only hopping rabbits comes very rarely, so have a lot of patience because sooner or later you will get a Wonderful chocobo. Send it back to your stalls at the Chocobo farm.

12) Once you have gotten a Wonderful chocobo, go back to the farm and see what gender it is. If it is the opposite gender of your black chocobo, then keep them both, but if it isn't release your black Chocobo , save, and breed another black Chocobo by mating your green and blue Chocobos. Now, feed your 20 remaining Sylkis Greens to your black chocobo and your Wonderful Chocobo (give 10 to each chocobo).

13) Fly back to the Golden Saucer and once again raise both of their rankings to level A by racing your Wonderful Chocobo and Black Chocobo.

14) Finally, fly back to the Chocobo farm and save. Once you have done that, breed your black Chocobo and Golden Chocobo using the Zeio Nut and VOILA! after a few resets and tries you should end up with the GOLDEN CHOCOBO!!! Note: the Golden Chocobo looks similar to the yellow Chocobo except that it is brighter in color so don't accidentally let it go just because it looks yellow.

THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH THE GOLD CHOCOBO

-located in the north eastern corner of the map is a special island that isn't shown on the map. Ride your gold chocobo onto the island and go inside the cave. You will find something shining. Go up to it and press O and you shall recieve the Knights of the Round Summon, the most powerful summon.

-Give your Golden Chocobo some Sylkis Greens by buying some more from the Chocobo Sage and raise its stamina, speed, and Intelligence. Go to the gold saucer and race your Chocobo until it is at class A. Continue to race your Chocobo until you raise it to class O (or some letter like that) and keep on racing and getting first place until the lady says that she has never seen somebody win so many times and she will give you a series of items: cat's bell, sprint shoes, some materia, and a ton of other stuff.
