La Cage Aux Folles (1978) Gentle French comedy of a gay couple posing as the parents of one¡¯s soon-to-be-married son. Amusingly expressive lead actors see this through a longish build-up, but it kicks into hilarious high gear for a frantic, farcical climax. Remade in Hollywood as The Birdcage.
