Psycho (1998) Oddly conceived remake of the classic shocker adds confusing tweaks to an otherwise identical (and brilliantly photographed) recreation. Gay director Gus Van Sant really brings out the queerness of the tale; it's creepy, camp and full of gay-tinged performances. Pretty pointless if you've seen the original, however - and utterly perplexing if you haven't.
