The mudmen were introduced, shortly after the Ferry boat arrived at centre island, and 5 of 6 took the stage. They began with Mason's Apron, which is all instrumental. Then Zoy joined the band on stage. I think they played Saturday next, but i could be wrong. Anyhow, the songs they played, in no particular order were: Saturday, In My Head, Winners, 5 O'Clock, Coma, Underdog, Wasting Time, Drink & Fight, and a cover of Spirit of the West's Home For A Rest...i think they even played an AC/DC cover, but i didn't know it. A couple of times, i'd snap some pictures of Tommy, and he'd notice me and pose for them LOL. he even noticed me singing a few times and smiled at me.
So, after they finished, i was *determined* to talk to them. They were all hanging out far from the gate though, at first...LOL, i noticed Zoy dropping his pants at one point...was i *not* supposed to see that? :) So anyway, then some big, metal-looking guy was talking to Ryan and Tommy, so i kinda snuck in there, and went to go talk to them. So Tommy sees me coming over, and he's like "hey!" and he signed my cd cover 'n stuff...then we talked about my blue hair LOL, and he posed for a picture with me. Then i'm talking to Ryan, and he's like "hey, i've met you before!" and i'm like "you have?" and he's like "yeah! at a j. englishman concert!" and i'm like "umm...which one?" and he goes "the lee's palace show, i played drums for him that night" and i'm like "oohh...the show that i was standing outside the whole night!" (j. tried to get me in, but lee's was a bitch...) anyway, i totally couldn't remember that, but now i think he *may* have come out with lonny to talk to us, before they went on...that's the only time that i can think of... (???) So, yeah...he signed my cd and took a picture with me 'n stuff too! :)
Then Zoy came over, and i introduced myself (i'd been leaving messages in their guestbook all week about seeing them at Ryerson, and he emailed me a few times about it) So then, i asked him for a picture, and so i put my arm around him and i'm like "ahh! you're all sweaty!" and he laughed and he's like "sorry!" and he grabbed a towel to put on his back LOL, it was so sweet :) So then i tried to get Lonny's attention, but he just wasn't looking over! then i noticed that he was talking to that other guy at the other side, so i went over. Then lonny looks up and sees me and he's like "hey you!" and i'm like "hey! long time no see!" and then he finished talking to the other guy, and he started walking away! so i was like "LONNY!" and i gave him this look that was like *GET OVER HERE RIGHT NOW!* and he kinda laughed and came over, and gave me a hug and a kiss, and i'm like "hey! it's been a while" and he's like "yeah, i thought you were grounded or something!" so we talked for a bit, and he let me stroke his mullet LOL. So we talked a bit longer, then i asked him for a picture, for old times sake, and he said yeah, of course...so he grabbed some guy, and asked him to take our picture. So Lonny hugged me and kissed me on the cheek for the picture, but then the guy was taking forever to snap the picture, so lonny's like "hey man, hurry up, i'm getting a hard-on!" i started laughing so hard! then we chatted a bit more, but he was like "hey..we gotta get to western now!" and i'm like "western SUCKS! ryerson RULES!" and he gave me this look, i just started laughing. man i missed lonny, that guy ROCKS! argh, i love him! :) then i got one of the campbell brothers to sign my cd...the one that's bald...i didn't really get to chat with him though, cause they really had to leave to go to Western.
Then rosemary and i went to get some food, and i was still glowing from meeting the mudmen! yay! they rock!
Then danko jones went on, but he kinda paled in comparison to the mudmen. He was kinda full of himself too. So in the middle of his set, Rosemary and i decided to go for a walk out to the edge of the water, and we sat there for a bit (it was too loud where we were sitting before, right in front of the speaker LOL)
Just before Danko Jones was finishing, we decided to go back to the ferry, and back to school, cause we were exhausted. (and i had a sunburn) By the time we actually got on the ferry though, Danko had finished, and many of the ryerson people joined us in line, so the ferry was packed on the way back.
