(taken from my live journal. read the beginning part of our day, and more details about what happened here)
k, so we got into the kool haus at 8. (i, of course, was wearing my santa hat. thank goodness i bought it, cause my hair would've looked SO bad after all that snow and rain!) i saw ryan, so i went over and talked to him. he's like "so, how are you?" and i'm like "c-c-c-cooold!" (i was shivering SO bad. my jacket was like, soaked through the lining. brrrr it was cold!) so we were talking (jena went to check her jacket...then alex checked mine and hers. LOL, i was such a lazy ass last night. i just wanted to talk to my mud-fellas!)
then, at one point, zoy walks by, and he says hi to ryan, but like, he totally ignored me, so i turn to ryan and i'm like "ugh! what a bastard! he didn't even say hi!" (jokingly, of course!) and ryan's like "i KNOW! i think he deserves a punch for that!" then zoy came back over, and i'm like "you didn't even say hi!!" and he's like "i didn't see you!" so then i talked to him for a bit, and i told him i had pictures for him. so the security guards made us stand over to the side, then ryan kinda disappeared (i dunno where he went) so zoy's looking at the pictures, and he gets to the one of me and him, and he's like "whoa, i look evil in this picture...like..don't fuck with me!" and i'm like "yeah, you look like there's SO many things you'd rather be doing than taking that picture with me!" and he's like "nahh!" then we were talking 'n stuff, and i was saying something about how i snuck a camera in and zoy yells out "WHAT?! YOU SNUCK A CAMERA IN?!" and i laughed and slapped him, and i'm like "SHHHH!!!" so then we were talking a bit more, and i asked if he was gonna be around later, cause i had to get him to sign something for my friend, and he said he'd probably be back where the merch was set up.
then we left to get in there. we went into the washroom first, to try to dry our clothing (i still couldn't feel my feet at this point LOL) so then, we were gonna stand around and wait for the mudmen...but we decided to finish writing out the cards instead. alex and i found a pole to sit against, and decorated all the cards. then jena came over, and she signed the cards. then jena's friend rachel was gonna come over and sign them, but the announcer guy came on stage, so we like, ran over to the front as quick as we could, and we ended up standing in the 3rd row, right in front of zoy, closer to lonny's side.
they opened with mason's apron, then zoy came out, and they played In My Head. I think they played Home For A Rest next...After that, i think they played Living A Lie. Then they played Coma and Saturday (but i can't remember in which order they played them...) And they ended off with Drink and Fight. It was an awesome set. way too short though, i wish they had played longer! I really wanted to hear Wasting Time and Underdogs :( Jena and Alex really liked them :) yay! two new fans for the mudmen!
then we went out to the merch area. i bought a cd for Damon for christmas (cause i promised him i'd get him one LOL..and they raised the prices since the Lee's Palace show! dammit!...better than buying it for $28 at HMV though...) so then, they all came out to talk to the crowd of people that was gathering :) I think we went over to talk to zoy first. he signed the cd for damon, and i was reading what he wrote, so he signed his name, and then underneath he wrote "i love u!" and then i looked at him and i'm like "umm..it's not for me!" and he goes "who's it for?" and i'm like "umm. my ex-boyfriend" so then he's like "oh shit." and he wrote on top of it "i don't mean it" LOLOL. i started laughing SO hard. then, he took a picture with me on one side, and jena and alex on the other side. (zoy gave our cameras to two guys who were standing around to take the pictures for us.) then i gave him the christmas card that we wrote for him, and he gave me a kiss on the cheek (awww!)
Then we went over to talk to Lonny, and he's like "hey you! long time no see!" and he hugged me and gave me a kiss, and he's like "merry christmas!" and he looks at me and he's like "you look good tonight!" (i laughed) then i gave him the christmas card that we wrote for him, and he gave me another kiss LOL :) then i was like "hey, you didn't stick around after the lee's palace show so i could take a picture with you!" and then somehow that turned into a conversation about getting laid LOL. and then he's like "but i have this really cute picture of me kissing you at the ryerson show!" (and i'm thinking..um...yeah. i gave it to you! LOL but i didn't say that) so then, he signed the cd cover for damon (and i didn't realize it until later that he wrote "lonny loves you" LOL, i really wanna keep this cd cover for myself!!) then we all took pictures with him, and let him talk to some other people.
Then, we stood over where ryan was standing, but there were some girls talking to him. then he looks up and notices me and smiles and he's like "HEY!" then i gave him his card, and he's like "aww! i get a christmas card!!?" so he opened it up, and i gave him the crocodile one, and he was like, dying of laughter! then he gave me a big hug. i asked him to sign my cd for me, and i gave him a red sharpie, but he had his own red sharpie, and we pulled them out at the same time! then i think jena said "great minds think alike!" and i said "great DRUMMERS think alike!" LOL, then he laughed, and he's like YEAH, right on! then we were talking and he's like "hey...i heard about mike turner leaving olp" and i'm like "noooo, don't bring that up. i cried for hours when i heard that!" so we talked about mike turner for a bit..then i took a picture with ryan, and i put my santa hat on his head LOL, and i think zoy or someone turned around and looked at him, and he's like "don't ask!" then he put it back on me LOL
then we went over to Tommy, and i gave him the christmas card, and he's like "WOW! THANKS!" and he gave me a hug. he opened it up (LOL, i gave him one with Santa, and a little girl on the cover, and the caption is "define good" ...i gave the same one to Sandy)then he signed the cd, and we all got pictures with him.
(i think the swollen members went on stage at this point...but i just, didn't care LOL. we didn't go watch them)
Then we went over to where Rob was, and i gave him the christmas card, and i'm like "umm. it's a little girly" and he's like "girly, eh? why?" and i'm like "umm. i'm a girl" LOL then he laughed. so then i asked him to sign the cd, and he's like "you already had this, didn't you?" and i'm like "yeah!! this one's for my ex-boyfriend" and he's like "ohhh!" and he signed in green. then we got pictures with him...i think me and jena were on either side of him, and then alex got one on her own.
then we were standing around for a bit, waiting for sandy, cause he was talking to people and i showed alex this cartoon that i drew of them, and she said i should give it to one of them. she also noticed that kalen from U8TV was here! (EEP! KALEN! KALEN'S SEXY!!)
so we went over to sandy, and i gave him the christmas card, and he's like "thanks!" (LOL, they all seemed so happy to be getting christmas cards from me. it was really funny LOL) then he signed the cd. Then we took pictures, and he's like "do you want my brother in it again?" and i'm like "no! just you this time! i already have one with just rob..so now i need one with you!" so he's like "oh! okay!" (then jena and alex got pictures with him too) Then i gave him the cartoon, and either alex or jena told him that he had to hang it on his refrigerator, and then he went into this story about how now he actually finally has a fridge, cause they're in a new apartment...or something like that. LOL, he didn't finish his story, cause some other people came to talk to him.
then i was talking to Brent for a bit, and he brought up the whole mike turner thing too LOL. it was as if they were all on a mission to get me depressed ;P he told us about how mike lives (lived?) in his hometown (oshawa) and about the old band that he used to be in.
then we went inside, i think, cause joydrop was about to start. there was some topless chick on stage that introduced them (i have no idea who she was..or why she was topless LOL) Then alex saw kalen, so i made her go over to him, and i followed (she met him before at the 311 concert) so she was talking to him, and then his girlfriend was like "hey! i remember you. katie, right?" and i'm like "AHH! how do you know me?!" (i didn't actually say that...i think i said something like "umm..yeah...??") and she told me that she used to work for olp.com, and that she remembered my glasses...weeeird. LOL. then i talked to kalen, and i asked him for a picture, so i could prove it to my brother's fiancee that i actually met him LOL. then i asked him why he left the loft, and he said that he had his fun there, and he felt it was time to leave...then we were talking about how Jenn was a bitch LOL.
Then joydrop were playing american dream girl, so i paid attention to them LOL, thats like, one of my favourite songs on the cd. then we decided to walk around, and see if we could find a better spot to stand...then, we ended up walking right back to where we were before we were talking to kalen, on the left side of the stage, further back from the gates, and kinda near the speakers. sandy was standing right behind me, with i guess his girlfriend? but i didn't wanna bug him, so i just watched the show LOL. the security guard that i was talking to outside, before the show, came over and played with my santa hat though LMAO. he was wearing the same one :P i didn't really give joydrop as much attention as i should've...but i was really hyped about the mudmen LOL they ended the set with a really good version of beautiful though! :)
then we kinda stood around where the mudmen were before, hoping to meet joydrop. they didn't come out for a long time though. finally, bif went on stage (well, they started with the music to Lucky...and she didn't come out for like, 2 minutes after all that pre-recorded music) so we went out to the stage area, just to see what was going on (i didn't really care to see bif again...alex was kinda ambivalent, and jena kinda wanted to see her, i think...) so we watched bif's first song, then we went back out to the merch area, and tara from joydrop was there. i got her to sign my cd covers, and i got a picture with her. Then Tom was signing some stuff, so i went over to him, he signed my cd covers, and i got a picture with him too.
Then Alex and I left, cause we didn't really wanna see bif...and we were still all hyped about the mudmen!
