Many, many people are in the metaphorical 'Broom Closet'.  Some of those people could 'come out' if they so wanted but either they are too scared of what could result or their path isn't truly their life and they have no reason to explain to others.  On the other hand, there are those who have no choice in the matter.  Perhaps this is who you are.  You live with your parents and "While you are under their roof..."
