As you start to work with them, you may follow one of the suggestions you find here, or in a book. But you'll find that as you become more comfortable with each of them, you may change the way you do things. This is perfectly acceptable. You conduct any workings you do whatever way it feels most comfortable. Many people start their focus on the elements in the East - "Air". Others start in the North. As you explore and learn, you will see that there are dozens of ways to work with the elements with all of them accomplishing the same task.
