Pele | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Use this invocation when working with Pele. Her sacred berries are the o'helo berries which grow in Hawaii. Cranberries make a great substitution. Always offer to Her first, then eat some yourself.
Invocation | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Aloha Pele! I call you from across the miles! Hear me, E Pele! Madame Pele, Mistress of Volcanoes and Fire. Pele-honua-mea! Woman of the Sacred Earth! Come to me from across the mightly ocean. I have your sacred berries. First I offer some to You, then some I also eat. Pele, be with us. Aloha.
Devocation | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Pele, You have been with us in circle. We are grateful for Your presence and bid you Mahalo. You have shared Your mana with us and we will remember. Return to Kilauea if You must and think of us. Again, Mahalo and Aloha.
Here is an invocation and devocation that I used during a fire ritual. I based parts of them on the above verses but since I'm not familiar with the Hawaiian language, I didn't feel right using their words.

Aloha Pele! We call You from across the miles. Hear us, Pele, Mistress of volcanoes and fire. Come to us from across the mighty ocean. We call upon you to join our rite this night, Bringing with you your fiery wisdom, And blazing passion! O fiery Goddess, bless this sacred rite. |

Sacred Lady of Flame, You have been in our hearts this night, And we bid you now farewell. Remain in our lives, Kindling our fires, empowering and inspiring us. We thank you for your attendance this eve. |
