This list was compiled from Louisiana Confederate Soldiers by Andrew B. Booth, which has been transcribed by Rootsweb. Unfortunately, the records that Booth consulted were often incomplete, and very often did not state the soldier's nativity. Based on the above list, then, it is safe to say that there were several hundred Canadian-born men serving with Louisiana regiments. Information on James Law was derived from obituaries that were printed in two Hamilton newspapers.
