This is the band that put Canada on the Rock and Roll maps. They were the first Canadian band to put a song and album on the top of the US charts, with American Woman. The combination of Bachman's guitar and Cummings' vocals made for amazing music. The duo wrote most of the music in a shared fashion, they were Canadian equivalent of the Lennon-McCartney partnership. The band did break-up, only after several departures over conflicts. Randy Bachman formed Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Burton Cummins had a great solo career. The Guess Who did perform, on various incarnations, almost continuously since their formation. The band did a reunion gig at the Pana-American Games held in Winnipeg in 1999 which lead to full fledged cross-Canada tour and subsiquent live album.
