Formed : Guelph, Ontario in 1992
Reside : Parkdale (Toronto, Ontario)
King Cobb Steelie is probably the best band you've never heard of. They have been called 'Toronto Dub Legends', and that they are. A fabulous mixture of all sorts of styles: rock, dub, world and pop. KCS were formed in 1992 at the Univeristy of Guelph. Kevan, Kevin, Gary Dutch and Al Okoda were either attending U of G or living in Guelph. Their music is witty and intelligent, which is probably why they've been dropped from their label. They are a great live act. Getting the members right isn't all that easy. Kevan and Kevin have been there since the beginning, the rest are around for short stints. The current line up is Kevan Byrne, Kevin Lynn and Mike Armstrong. Their guests for some performances and on the albums include Michelle McAdorey (ex-Crach Vegas), Tamara Williamson and Spooky Ruben. Don Pyle, who was a part-time member and produced their first album was a member of Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet.
