This foursome out of Winnipeg's debut album hit Canada about the same time as grunge and they fit in perfectly. They were a hard-hitting band in the beginning both lyrically and musically. The Watchmen weren't happy with just making one style of music and have honed their skills and have expanded their musical vocabulary in their subsequent albums. Their debut album, McLarenFurnaceRoom, was named after their rehersal space. That disc freatured several radio hits including 'Must to be Free' and 'Run and Hide'. Their next album built on their fanbase with 'Boneyard Tree' getting a video. For their most recent release 1998's 'Silent Radar' The Watchmen gave something back to their loyal fans, included with the disc were two surprizes; an enhanced CD that allowed for access to a special web site that brought videos to the songs on the disc, and a coupon for a live CD. The live CD wasn't recorded at the time of the album's release, it was recorded at a stop on the supporting tour.
