Mythical Creatures
Far away in the twilight time,
Of every people, in every clime,
Dragons and griffins and monsters dire,
Born of water and earth and air and fire.

Name each mythical creature below.

1) A legendary sea creature having the head and upper body of a woman and the tail of a fish.

2) A tiny imaginary being in human form, depicted as clever, mischievous, and possessing magical powers. 

3) One of a race of monsters having the head, arms, and trunk of a man and the body and legs of a horse.

4) A fabled creature symbolic of virginity and usually represented as a horse with a single straight spiraled horn projecting from its forehead. 

5) A bird in Egyptian mythology that lived in the desert for 500 years and
then consumed itself by fire, later to rise renewed from its ashes. 

6) One of a group of sea nymphs who by their sweet singing lured mariners to destruction on the rocks surrounding their island. 

7) A figure in Egyptian myth having the body of a lion and the head of a
man, ram, or hawk.
