Morning....time to rise and shine. I've been so anixous for morning to
come, for you to wake up (we don't sleep much around this time of the year).
I thought you might like this receipe of special treats that we make for
the elves. They do love them, Mom and I just can't make enough of them
(maybe if Dad would stay out of the kitchen while we're baking, and stop
snitiching them we wouldn't run out--I really thought Mom was going to
slap his hand..lol...but she didn't, just gave him a plate full, right
out of the oven, and sent him on his way). Well I must get to my chores
and I'm scheduled to work in the mail room today. Sooooooooo many letters
coming in that need to be checked against Santa's list and notes to make.

Chocolate
Cookie Bears
Ingredients-
1 cup
granulated sugar
8 tablespoons
(1 stick) margarine or butter, softened
1 cup
(6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips, melted
2 eggs
1 teaspoon
vanilla
2 cups
Quaker® Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
1-1/2
cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon
baking powder
1/4 teaspoon
salt (optional)
Ready
to spread frosting, assorted small candies, candy sprinkles, colored sugar.
Preparation-
1. In
large bowl, beat sugar and margarine until creamy. Add melted chocolate,
eggs and vanilla; beat well. Add combined oats, flour, baking powder and
salt; mix well. Cover; chill about 2 hours.
2. Heat
oven to 350°F. To make bears, shape dough into 1-inch balls for the
bodies, 1/2-inch balls for the heads and 1/4-inch balls for the arms, legs
and ears. On ungreased cookie sheets, gently press pieces together to form
bears, placing 2 inches apart. Flatten bears slightly.
3. Bake
8 to 10 minutes or just until firm to the touch. (Do not overbake.) Cool
2 minutes on cookie sheets; remove to wire rack. Cool completely.
4. Decorate
as desired with frosting and candies. Store tightly covered..

HELP!!! We've had an awful accident at the North Pole.
Frosty
was hit by a run away sleigh (the reindeers in training where pulling it,
they
just lost complete control). Please help us out and put him back together.
I've
got to go calm the young reindeer down. They are beside themselves,
poor
dears. I'll reassure them that he is in good hands
and
will be returning to the North Pole soon.

and we have way too many for our trees (we decorate everyone that
