The Announcer's Booth A page dedicated to our friends from WNDS TV50's Candlepin Stars & Strikes
So....................
Just who are Mike Morin and Dick Lutsk anyway you might ask??We took the opportunity to thoroughly evaluate
the two characters in question here on this page.As avid viewers and occasional audience members we can correctly affirm that Mike Morin and Dick Lutsk are two extremely serious minded TV announcers highly capable of making split second decisions needed to give meticulous descriptions of the events happening on the fast paced set of a candlepin bowling show.
The intense facial expressions in the shot below illustrate
some of the highest levels of concentration known to mankind!

And just what gives them this super talented ability you may ask?
Here’s the simple answer. It’s all the high tech equipment around them.
And we have the facts! They’re surrounded by three cameras equipped with high powered multi CCD imaging sensors capable of capturing and displaying millions of effective pixels of digital information, all of which are simultaneously delivered to the controls of the production engineers in the main truck outside the bowling alley for further processing.
The complex infrastructure of computers, video playback monitors, microphones and miles of coaxial cables also come into play during that limited time of transformation when Mike Morin and his partner Dick Lutsk turn into the announcers that they truely appear to be!
So, what on earth happens when all that equipment is turned off?
WE THOUGHT YOU'D NEVER ASK !
They turn into two "WILD AND CRAZY GUYS"

They will do anything for a laugh!
Have you ever attend a taping at Leda Lanes in Nashua, NH ?
Here's a glimpse of their unmatched vaudeville act
between shows when the cameras are turned off.
( And we ain't kidding when we say unmatched!)

- If that ain't enough, at the end of their act they attempt to
make fans join in with them on the lane approaches!DO NOT SIT IN THE FRONT ROW!
AHHH....... we're just kidding!
Whew... that was fun! And enough scientific talk for that matter!
When these guys aren't busy taping shows they are still
out together helping others in the candlepin community
Recently, during a fundraiser held at Pilgrim Lanes in Haverhill, MA
these guys themselves went way out on a limb and claimed to be
"BOWLERS"

Dick claimed he had the "upper hand" on Mike to win this year's grudge match and
Mike bragged that he didn't need a hand to bowl with as you can see above! The Rock-N-Bowl event which they along with many Pro Bowlers attended raised
a great deal of money for the Pilgrim Youth Program's annual trip to Nova Scotia.

"Don't quit your day job Mike!" - was the answer we're pretty sure we heard from
MA State Champ, Kaitlyn Dale, as Mike Morin asked for some professional advice before
losing the grudge match.
Lately, we even know them to be a couple of "Sweet Talkers"

Mike & Dick teamed up at the Tom Morgan fundraiser recently in Lynn, MA
The guys were there doing what they do best at the event using their great
communication skills to help their friends.A day packed full of raffles, music and auctions featuring some great
New England sports memorabilia made the event a huge success
![]()
"Going once...going twice....sold to the gentleman in the back for $1150.00"
That's right, Dick Lutsk auctioned off a Boston Celtic's basketball autographed
by the entire team for $1150.00 to help raise money for the Morgan family. Now that's some sweet talkin'!

By now we're sure that a few of you were probably expecting some kind of
"provocative picture" of the two as only we could do and get away with but
we prefered to give the page a "G" rating this time.
(Hey, they've been real nice to us!)All joking aside, we here at Candlepin Corner would like to say that Mike and Dick
do a great job promoting the game and we're sure we speak for many in the candlepin community when we say we're happy to call them friends.
