Shampoodles owner takes second in competition
ALTON -- Tara Lamper of Alton, NH, took Second Place in the Mixed Breed class at Intergroom's Rising Star Grooming Competition.  On April 16 - 18, at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, NJ, the prestigious international trade show celebrated it's 25th year as pet stylists from around the world came together for continuing education and friendly competition.
Ms. Lamper, owner of Shampoodles in Alton, NH, once again entered with Poodle mix Lucy from Rochester.  Though the pair had recently won First Place in their class at a regional competition, Ms. Lamper was still in awe of earning a placement at Intergroom.  The judges commented that they appreciated her smooth scissoring and well balanced styling.

Continuing education through such trade shows as Intergroom is important for professional groomers to keep up to date with the latest pet care knowledge.  Grooming competitions can also provide the stylist with valuable critiques from renowned experts in the field.  Ms. Lamper, a newcomer to the competition ring, regularly attends seminars and is a member of the International Society of Canine Cosmetologists, as well as New England Pet Grooming Professionals.
