Amick's Rangers
Free and Accepted Masons
Captain Egan continues the story of his capture by Amicks Rangers.  On May 22nd, he is escorted to Union as a Prisoner of War, and on the way is joined by another yankee prisoner, Captain Tibbles. At Union;
"Some of the more prominent men of the town who were present engaged us in conversation, especially among them Captain Tibbles, found some friends.  It appears that signs of fraternal recognition passed between the latter and these gentlemen, after which we were conducted to a two-story building, an apartment in the rear of which I judged to be used as a Masonic lodge-room.  While detained here, the gentlemen in whose charge we were, engaged the captain in close conversation, with the result that our friend Tibbles never accompanied us to prison."
