As a Sergeant for a South Florida Sheriff's Department and the Florida State Coordinator for the American Deputy Sheriffs' Association, I am interested in New Law Enforcement Technology .
As a young man, I grew up around Cape Canaveral. I witnessed the early years of space technology and new ideas grow into what is now known as the computer/electronic age. When the Space Shuttle is launched today, it amazes me to see how far technology has come!
I believe that law enforcement technology will change rapidly in the future and the way in-which law enforcement conducts it's business will change. .
Law Enforcement Departments should be on the cutting edge in the use of new computers and technology in every community in America and around the world. Video cams in patrol cars and dispatchers conversations being recorded were just the beginning. Lap-Top computers and computerized recording systems are already in use in many departments today. As newer systems are developed, I visualize the law enforcement department of the future will be a computerized, electronic recording base station.
The most up to date systems and technology should be used by Law Enforcement Departments giving the officers and support staff the sense of being on top of things, in a rapidly changing and technology based world.
I would like to develop a virtural training site called, "SUPER COP ACADEMY" to be used by all law enforcement departments.
