Hello alumni:
Let's celebrate today! It will be the greatiest moment in the future in
our society, Kyungpook National University. This is the first Broadcasting
e-mail by knu@korea.usc.edu to my dear KNU alumni.
We, I and my younger friends in USC, Woo, Woon-Tack, Lee Sang-Youb,
Kown, Jae-Wan, Kim, Jong-Soong, have been tried to install KNU Alumni
Association in Abroad WWW homepage, Internet e-mail Broadcasting System
and KNU Buletin Board System(BBS) for better communication and sharing
information among KNU alumni through Internet. I got a "korea" as our
direct internet hooked-up machine name, so that our homepage and BBS is
running under name "korea". During this comeing Winter Break, we have plan
running under name "korea". During this comeing Winter Break, we have pla
to install Web BBS for your convenience.
To connect those internet stuffs from your place, here is address:
1. KNU BBS (namely Il-Chung-Dam)

(you can either connet to this machine by telent or rlogin
from your home)

A spec. of korea.usc.edu machine:
1. Network: E1(unfortunatly, by the limitation of money, I
installed NE200 ethernet card, 10Mbps)
2. PC:
1) Pentium 150MHz CPU and Mother Board
(Loan from Woon-Tack, Sang-Yuob,
Jong-Soong, Jae-Wan Alumni, $100/each, have
to pay-back later from donation, when we are upgrade

this system from you. Your donation will be greatly
helpful for this system)
2) Memory: 32 Mg
(temporarily borrow from Sang-Yuob Alumni,
have to return-back after this system will be donated
from you enough money)
3) Hard Disk Drive: Sam-Sung 560Mg
(This is a critical issue have to be up-graded, around
50% is occupied by Operating System, so that 200Mg is
available space to run our system)
4) CD drive, and 5.25inch Disk Drive from old PC.
(It's free)
5) Monitor and Graphic Card: Sam-Sung brack/white monitor
supported by Hercules B/W graphic Card
(It's work anyway)
6) Operating System: Linux Slackware96
(We had plan to install Solaris or FreeBSD, but by the

In a sense of accounting, our balance is: - $400, and also we need some
more money to buy a Bigger Hard Disk Drive, and faster Ethernet card. We
installed it for you and our community. If you feel happy to use this
machine, please donate your whatever resource to help this system. Anyway,
It's totally not commercial.
