Fairhaven, MA Repeater (145.49 MHz) Weather Net Fall Meeting

Saturday, November 16, 1996

I'd like to invite all weather enthusiasts, amateur radio ready or not, to come by our Fall Meeting this Saturday from 12:30 to about 2:30 PM in Fairhaven at CVI (cable tv) offices on Route 6, just a few miles off I-195 at exit 18. (for detailed directions please see the web site below, or email me) No admission charged.

We'll have little tidbits like Mount Washington Observatory sample bulletins (Windswept) and MWO membership forms, and METAR handouts. Our centerpiece display will be a demo of the DTN wx data terminal system. (see web site)

We invite folks to bring along stuff they'd like to share with other wx bugs like historic books and artifacts, homemade weather instruments, antique or unusual weather instruments, personal photos of weather in unusual settings. There is still time to register with us if you'd like to have a little time scheduled to present a short talk on any of the above topics or one of similar interest. Please email me with a brief description of your idea.

Our sponsor is a group of hams who first got together on the Fairhaven MA repeater (145.49 MHz), and still do so on one of the oldest continuously running 2 meter weather nets in Massachusetts. The net meets without fail Monday through Friday at 8:00 PM for the exchange of weather observations and miscellaneous comments.
