Z8 PCB

Here you see the component side of a 2-layered PCB (picture not to scale!) of one of my Z8 projects. In order to ease software development the design uses the romless version of the Z8. Two 74-series chips provide memory mapped 8 bit in- and output ports to compensate for the processors I/O pins used to connect the external EPROM. A RS232 serial Port is also provided.

Half of the board is free for peripherials & extensions and address/data bus as well as control signals and additional chipselects are available.

There is also a version of the PCB that uses this extra space for a mains (230V) power supply.
