Shockwave support, And also the ability to get

just don't like all the sites I can't use
fully.

Fullerton, California wrote: We have access to the Net with both WebTV and
PC's.. Our $5000 MAC can do Web things that
WebTV cannot, but not 12 times the amount
(which is the price difference). The access
from WebTV is noticeably superior in terms of
reliability (both with the Black Box
performance and the ability to access the net
anytime) and speed consistency when compared to
our PC's. No, we're not AOL users, but have
gone through 3 poor access providers already.
All in all, WebTV is a bargain, simple to use,
fun and improving a lot faster than our PC's.
The printer adaptor seems to be in high demand.
We'd like it too. Our computers are unable to
handle the call waiting that WebTV does
effortlessly notifying us of an incoming call
and then returning to the point at which we
were before the call. I could write several
pages on the advantages of WebTV when compared
to PC access and a much smaller list of
disadvantages and problems. My wife refuses to
use the PC now choosing instead to go the WebTV
path for the Internet. We have been surprised
by our technophobic senior citizen relatives
who can't set the time on their VCR but use
WebTV at our house. They've found a world
beckoning their exploration keeping both their
mind and spirit alive and well. AARP should
recommend it to every member. We love our
WebTV and want to do everything possible to
ensure their success and longevity.

Kalamazoo, Michigan wrote: WebTV costs one fifth that of a PC...I have no real problems with the "short comings" of the product, based on the price. I feel fortunate that the Real Audio was SENT, rather than appearing on my bill. I spent very little money for something that is bringing me a plethora of heretofore unknow information !! I truly love it ! Check out a good WebTV-compatible chat site atAlamak.com...Cheers !

Des Plaines, Illinios wrote: I have lots of complaints (many of which will no doubt be addressed in system enhancements.) But on the whole I am thrilled---and I was very skeptical at the outset. A concern is that according to a recent "unconfirmed" report in Broadcasting magazine, 30,000 WebTV terminals have been sold. This sounds shockingly low. Can't say I've seen a lot of advertising by retailers, which also suggests WebTV isn't a hot item. You'd think word of mouth would make units fly off the shelves !
Fairfield County, Ct wrote: WebTV is an excellent, affordable way to the
internet and it's incredible wealth of knowledge.
However, the system is still NOT able to get MPEG,
Shockwave, AVI, RealAudio3.0, Microsoft Word .doc.,
and Java. So there really is ALOT of "tuneups" needed
to bring system into the same "Playing Field" as the
PC. If these hurdles are made than I would have to
say you'd be "Crazy" not to buy a WebTV unit !!!
Sacto, California wrote: WebTV has made an immense difference in our lives,

watching sick unhappy TV shows. We check prices or

much to talk about and show each other. We send
e-cards. (Check out the Kelloggs site !) WebTV - it's
a "good" thing.
