I've had Webtv since Nov. 96 and am on my 2nd sony keyboard(thank god for warranties). In addition to my remote I have purchased a standard keyboard and I find it to be more comfortable to use. Webbers getting hugh toll bills because they do not have local access number should look into obtaining land line from local phone company from a city that has webtv access number. OK - to explore some interesting places, when you get to a webpage you like, hit GOTO then 'show current' then backspace (delete key on Webtv keyboard) the last part of the address off and see where you are. Sometimes you get directories that have listings of all HTML pages and GIFS, etc. Like this: http://www.xxx.com/one/two then change to http://www.xxx.com/one - Gets interesting some times.

I got stuck on the 'unable to reach WebTV.... routine maintance" trouble msg. recently. GOWEBTV asked me to simulate a power outage by unpluging for one minute and logging on again as a "new number". This gets you to the POP via the webtv 1-800 number. No toll charge and since old number = new number the original local routing is restored at the next log-on.
New number/same number query will not appear on subsequent log-ons unless there is a real power outage.
