This elegant, locally produced and improved
version of the Mirage 5 owes its existence to Charles de Gaule's abrupt
1967 embargo against Israel. Some 40 Neshers served with distinction, particulay
during the Yom Kipur War and registered scores of victories over enemy
fighters, including Lybian Mirage 5's who were shot down as they attempted
to attack Israel in 1973.
