AE Common Battery Phones In the late 1920's AE was producing two classes of Common Battery phones: Type 21 Series and the Monophone Series. Type 21 Models A. Desk Set (Candle Stick) with external Ringer Box - dial or manual ( non dial) - booster or series circuit - metallic or ground ringing - selective ringing frequency
B. Wall Set ( Internal Ringer) - dial or manual ( non dial) - booster or series circuit - metallic or ground ringing - selective ringing frequency
Monophone Series A. No. 1 and No. 5 (non dial version) - special external ringer box with 3 wire induction coil - metallic or ground ringing - selective ringing frequency B. No. 11 and No. 15 (non dial version) - external ringer box - induction coil in receiver - metallic or ground ringing - selective ringing frequency C. No. 2 ( dial only) - internal ringer - 3 wire induction coil in a booster circuit - metallic or ground ringing - selective ringing frequency D. No.12 ( dial only) - same as Model No.2 expect induction coil in receiver E. No. 3 and No. 6 ( non dial ) - wall set - internal ringer - 3 wire induction coil - metallic or ground ringing - selective ringing frequency F. No. 13 and No. 16 ( non dial ) - same as Model No. 3 expect induction coil in receiver G. No. 4 and No. 14 ( both non dial ) - no ringer ( extension set) - 3 wire induction coil in a booster circuit (No. 4) - induction coil in receiver (No. 14)
