Formerly unidentified Iridium Flare.
Photo by Jon Teus, from San Sebastian Spain, location 1.983 West
and 43.317 N. Alpha Lyra is the bright star in the upper right.
In the enlargement, (click on photo), the satellite can be seen flaring
below 102 and 98 hercules and above 95 and 96 hercules.
Update! Analyses gives a very high probability that the satellite
is Iridium 62, on December 28, 1998 at 5:46 p.m. local time. Looking
west the bird passed from N to S or right to left. Thanks to
Allen Thompson for maintaining his archive of old elsets which were
helpful in Identifying this
one!
