Lew's telescope and CCD Camera Project

02 March 1999 Update

Dew Cap

(for a Newtonian?)

To reduce scattered light to the CCD camera, a tube extension is being built. It is a frame work structure that will be wrapped with fiberglass.

The dewcap will fit on the end of the tube and is light weight now, and will be only slightly heavier when it is finished. It will be painted black inside and finished with a flocked black paper. It has to be removed for storage of the telescope as it does not fit into the roll off shed witht he cap on. Dew has been a problem with the filter slide and secondary. Perhaps the dew cap will help that, too!
