His data was analyzed to form an impression of the weather here. The plot on the right shows the percentage of nights per month when he observed. | The Kiluea Eruption Update will give details on the latest activity of the volcano. Pahala faces little threat from lava from Kiluea, but does suffer the risk of high SO2 levels and ash deposits. These are a distnct threat. The current eruption may continue to be small or it could rival Mt. St. Helens. Currently, there is vog (= volcanic fog) that ruins about half of the observing nights.
