Israeli Air Force Mission

These are the ten primary missions of the Israeli Air Force as defined in the official homepage of the Israeli Defence Forces :

Defense of Israel's airspace and the Israel Defense Forces' (IDF) operational region.
Achieving superiority (freedom of activity) above the battle arena.
Participating in the ground war.
Attacking strategic targets in enemy territory.
Participating in naval battles.
Providing aerial intelligence as part of the general intelligence picture.
Performing photo reconnaissance missions for all I.D.F. needs.
Performing air transport operations for the I.D.F. and in support of other national requirements.
Performing aerial search-and-rescue missions.
Providing control and communications assistance to civil air traffic authorities (as required).
